  1. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

And all the other “street tire” endurance series.
  2. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

The Porsche spec 305/30s are wearing real well for me and I have uniform wear across the tread width with -2.5ish neg camber. From strictly a performance perspective, I think the Bridgestone RE71R is better. My comparison is on my SN95 3klb race car in a 255/40/17 size, but nonetheless, the...
  3. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

35 v 30 aspect ratio is primary reason for different load rating. It will be interesting to see if these last any longwr and how much of a performance difference there will be with a taller tire.
  4. 6.5" JL Audio Micro Sub + 250/1 JL Amp + LC7i LOC

To avoid headache I went with a simple speaker upgrade. Sounds much better, but it does have a weird anomaly. When I push the volume above 20, which the speakers will take just fine, the volume adjusts down on it’s own to a more “reasonable” volume after playing for a minute or so. I’m wondering...
  5. Private Track Day Part Tres: 4/15/19 Willow Springs: Signature Wheel X Griggs Racing X FPRS

This car is off the chart fast! It’s so well sorted. He posted in car video a while back and looked to be very confidence inspiring to drive.
  6. Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Build and Adventure Thread

Yes, diff’rent strokes for diff’rent folks. One thing for sure is it’s good to have options. Taking up limited space is also a knock on wrap for me that I intended to mention, so glad you did. I’d be real interested to see how much disintegration wrap would have experienced in your situation...
  7. Honey Badger's Completely Off-the-Rails Build and Adventure Thread

Wow, just catching up after being gone to the races all weekend. Kev, you neglected to mention the electrical gremlin resurfacing and the big leap plan. Might as well yank off the band aid sooner than later. Easy answer on ceramic coating over wrap is durability. I didn't read if you're going...
  8. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

I think it would be a better setup than the OEM R spec setup. One of my buds did the reverse and ran the R spec 315 up front and Porsche spec 325 on the rear, just because that’s what he had. The tires worked fine together, just not as neutral as he would like. I think the Porsche 305f and R...
  9. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

The Porsche spec tires are a different design with a much more squared sidewall. They are clearly a more robust tire overall, hence the increased load rating.
  10. Let's get serious about track tires for GT350

Reality is the Cup2 Porsche Spec 305/30/19 (102Y) is going to provide best longevity combined with performance. I don’t get it, but the guys running those legitimately get twice the life from them without a sacrifice in performance. It’s clearly a far more robust design. Unfortunately you pay...
  11. Like Water Through A Hose - CSL's GT350

It’s all good, and I appreciate Kevin and Terrance making me sound like an IMSA driver :sunglasses: On a serious note, I hope that people can find takeaways from my non-R setup which I think works incredibly well on track for a street car. Hell, I drove the car 700 miles each way and just...
  12. Like Water Through A Hose - CSL's GT350

    Definitely laminar.
  13. Like Water Through A Hose - CSL's GT350

Terrance got it in the moment and in the proper context...as intended.
  14. Like Water Through A Hose - CSL's GT350

We ran lead follow that entire session. The FP350S passed us both...he was a bit faster
  15. Like Water Through A Hose - CSL's GT350

Definitely not eating. James has a super well-sorted Griggs GT500 that puts down 650-700whp and he runs slicks. We tend to have a habit of connecting in the last session for a balls out run. He’s a great shoe and we’re pretty much equally fast.
  16. Like Water Through A Hose - CSL's GT350

Wow, thanks for the shout out Terrance. Love my wheels.....and aero too!
  17. New GT350/GT350R Docol R8 Roll Bar

Bump on this. Last day to get special pricing!
  18. Trackspec Hood Vent Coming

I do! Also, I have raised the hood bumpers up pretty high and that took care of flutter to a large extent up to 150ish.
  19. Trackspec Hood Vent Coming

I just want the center vent. Sign me up.
  20. The Return of Grab R

^^Yes, let’s do! Justin and I have been trying to coordinate schedules for months to get together for lunch. Justin and I became fast friends when Grab R was a mere twinkle in his eye. Would be great to get Mitch and Justin together. On edit....sorry, I just realized I invited myself. I’ll wait...
