Yes, in my experience it's very similar to stock, a nice linear acceleration. Below 3500 it's pretty docile, I can feel a little extra umph, but all of the real fun begins above 3500 rpm.
My car is a 6 speed and I'm enjoying the kit alot, I've got a gen 3 pp1, so different gearing and transmission, but its a great kit and I'm happy with my choice.
For some reason I thought it was mentioned that all of the G3 stuff was billet earlier this year, but would be changing to cast later. @[email protected], can you confirm either way?
There is definitely more acceleration before the 3500 rpm, but it's not as noticeable compared to after 3500rpm. I'm not sure if the smaller unit with a smaller pulley would help that at all. But my understanding is it's the nature of the centrifugal super charger. If your looking for below...
Just a quick update, Brevin was kind enough to send me a clamp kit for my setup so I can replace them all, great customer service! Took the car to work today and boy does it make some steam now. Once the car rev's to around 3500 rpm \/\/\/
Glad to see that these updates are happening with the kit! That is a testament to ESS, they are upgrading the kits and listening to feedback from the consumers.
I agree, that this kit doesn't feel cheap with the exception of the two included plastic components, It would have been nice to see those as metal/billet parts, but the rest of the kit is super high quality.
Got the tracking for the kit, thank you! I squeezed that clamp to the point of almost breaking the little stopper on it and wasn't able to fit it over the housing, not sure what the issue was there, but either way the temp clamp has been successful in holding strong so far.
Thanks for mentioning the horn! I completely forgot to put that in my post. Where did you relocate to or how did you maneuver yours? I wound up twisting the bracket down, adjusting the horns slightly, and calling it a day, but I would have like to have known this ahead of time. @[email protected] That...
It wasn't to bad, all of the IC connections are silicone on it so it was mostly just trying to maneuver stuff around, but I think it would have be a PIA if it was hard piping, at least with not modifying things.
The allure of this kit to me, was that It retained almost all of the stock...
While this thread is active again, I'll add some shots. I just completed the install of the ESS Tuning G3 Supercharger, should be an entertaining season. Trying to decide if I'm going to stay spoiler-less or install the Mach 1 with Gurney Flap wing I have waiting.
Thoughts?
If you could share the list that would be great, I've got a few mismatched clamps and I would like to get the correct sized, matching clamps to complete mine.
I didn't have any luck getting that clamp over the thermostat housing, I was able to get it squeezed all the way, but not get it over...
