I strongly suspect, if you disassembled both the earlier and later lights, there would be a way to migrate the necessary componentry from new to old.
However, also look into the connectors. I would hope the plug and socket are the same, but fewer wires in the pre-18 plug on the headlight wiring...
I had my oil changed after 1500 miles of break-in driving. Again at 5k & then every 5k. I would do this whether boosted or not.
Oh and although slightly off topic.
Ask about the body & paint checks you're required to get with Ford, to maintain your Body & paint warranty.:like:
A lot of homologated cars can exceed 80db, so there is a legal conflict between driving a car certified and homologated for the U.K. and then trying to fine the driver for driving that car.
Furthermore, db is sensitive to range/distance between the source of the sound and the detector. This is...
As a automotive design Engineer for nearing 30 yrs and having worked on Ford projects I am very, very, familiar with Ford's part numbering.
To revise a post-job-1 part, assembly, system, requires a process commonly referred to as an ECR, Engineering Change Request. This involves lots of work...
Bit of an extreme example. However, part of the consultation proposes the secretary of state for transport can order a recall of modified vehicles. This could be to reset those vehicles to factory. Furthermore, this could be retrospective application of the anti-tamper law, by the back door...
It seems the U.K. Gov has launched a shortened consultation period, on introducing new legislation related to amongst other things, improving your car, over the OEM spec, with non OEM parts. "Anti tamper".
I would suggest this would concern anyone who either makes, sells or buys after sales...
AFAIK, Hinch has had first hand info from dissatisfied customers of MAP, such as me!
You are respnsible for what the customer recieves. Don't hide behind your staff.
Telling your customers they can bring their car back to you, may give some the impression you'll fix your work.
Cams would be interesting, just for the chop!
More seriously. If I had my time again, first thing I would do is find a very good tuner, preferably U.K.
I engaged a U.S. tuner.
Very short responses to emails.
No explanations about what they were doing.
The tune has since cost 4 figures in...
There's a growing consensus that BMW reports power outputs at the lower end of their test results. Fair enough, I've no problem with that.
But when real world tests put an alledged 500bhp BMW up against cars dyno'd at much higher outputs "... and the BMW still roasts them. Then...
Indeed, the factory spec GT has it's good points. I remember being impressed by it's acceleration.
What wasn't so impressive, was the poop-box, white, Mk7 golf R estate, which very nearly managed to stay with the GT.
Then there was that time with the revo tuned Skoda saloon... Octavia?
Even being dyno'd around ~640 wheel & manual, at 50, you can't just mash the pedal into the carpet.
I think it was an Evo article which described a blown stang as a "3rd gear car". Traction is the issue.
Even on a roll, initially dropping back, becomes a tough gap to close against anything...
One of my life lessons has been. Never say ' Never '.
No idea what the future holds for me regarding cars. I've owned a lot of cars (not simultaneously) & doing so has made me poorer than I might otherwise be.
The Mustang gets +ve reactions like no other car I've owned (esp recently since...
Does the car have trouble starting?
Is it quieter than it should be?
Circumstantial signs of an obstructed CAT-OPF assembly, ime.
There are pressure sensors in the CAT-OPF assemblies. Could it be a failed/failing sensor?
If the car has been tuned, some tuners, mess with the purge...
I replaced the gasket with the RTV silicone sealant, since when I have not had the issue again.
However, my Stage 2 Whiple was installed by a garage and while removing the TB I noticed the four bolts did not seem to be evenly torqued-up.
I have torqued all four bolts, in an 'X' pattern, to...
After discovering an issue with the exhaust. I had a Mishimoto H-Pipe installed.
I was lucky JW Racing had some in stock
Especially big thanks to the guys at Modurstang, for installing it!
I'd happily recommend Modurstang.
