  1. CJ Pony Parts Rant

Likewise! If I was closer to some of these vendors, I'd be making the drive, (within reason for a given item value) since I love driving. Anyway, I hope your next buy, wherever it is, you don't go through any of this nonsense.
  2. CJ Pony Parts Rant

Damn OP - really sucks to hear your experience. I've got stuff from CJ, AM and LMR. All have been good in my buying experience, like others have said. Tbh, I think there's a lot of luck involved, too. However - My most recent refund experience from AM was disappointing. I ordered 2 Pony...
  3. Coolant Leak. What caused this? And whats the part caled? Dont wanna take it to the dealer

I don't believe this is a leak - this could be a some film or sealer of some kind. I've seen a few Gen3 5.0L V8s have this sort of residue at this exact area, including my own - and it looks just like that, it doesn't spill over any further past the flange. In fact, if you touch it, it's...
  4. Dirt in spark plug holes

looks very interesting in those spark plug tubes. In all my years changing spark plugs, the tubes are always clean. You mentioned that this is the second time you're swapping plugs - the first time, was the dirt in these pics there as well? If not, somehow, the coilpacks were not seated fully...
  5. Car just arrived and Ughhh

Agree a lot with what was already said, but I'll add that this is the issue with Vroom/Carvanas of the world, in that for such a complex piece of machinery like a car - especially a used car - it's a huge disadvantage to buy without ever having seen it in person, let alone to drive the vehicle...
  6. Car just arrived and Ughhh

    This is truth!
  7. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Wishing a Happy 🇺🇸Thanksgiving to everyone, from your 🇨🇦friends Stay safe all! :fistbump:
  8. UPR Plug Fail Cost 250.00 of Track Dust Plus Whole Day of Maintenance and Cleaning.

+1 to what RR is saying about nylon. People often refer to "plastic-looking" components on vehicles (oil pans, intake manifolds, chain tensioner guides, etc.) as "plastic" but they are actually composites and/or nylons, some being glass reinforced, which are much stronger than common plastics -...
  9. Thoughts on the 2023 Z06?

Thanks for that clarification  (I actually didn't catch your previous posts) which seems to line up and make sense with much of ther other info that's been released in the 5.5.
  10. Thoughts on the 2023 Z06?

Another Excellent find  You're right though - the engineers and techs working on the LT6 were probably so heads-down in it that they may have not tried to look into some of the voodoo issues. Or, if they did, they didn't dig enough and stopped at a certain point, thinking that their...
  11. Test driving - this normal?

    There's always another
  12. Thoughts on the 2023 Z06?

Thanks to Ewheels and s2ms for posting those great reads, with a lot of nice insights  Interesting (and somewhat expected) that GM also had issues with oil filters vibrating off prototype engines during development. I wonder how much GM kept tabs on some of the same issues Ford was...
  13. Test driving - this normal?

As others said, clutch pedal should not be sticking to the floor. Something's up with either the clutch pedal or the hydraulic system perhaps (hoses, air in the system etc.) that could be causing the pedal to not return.
  14. What do you think about GT/Ecoboost/V6 Mustangs with stripes? Poseurish? Tacky?

What you've outlined somewhat echos many of my own thoughts about stripes. It all comes down to personal preference - Nobody's really to say what should and should not go on your car, stripes being no different. Your money, your car, your decision. However, goes without saying that there's...
  15. Thoughts on the 2023 Z06?

This is brilliant  Kidding aside, and looks being subjective of course - I have not gotten over this design treatment of the scoop or vent on the "regular" corvette, and I'm still trying to see if I can on this different execution on the Z06. The car is, overall, too sharp and pointed...
  16. So I swapped my JLT CAI back with the stock one today...

Oh, yes, you're correct on that there is only one version for the 18+. For some reason I thought you were referring to the 15-17 cars. Didn't know where my mind was at lol. I'm sure you've seen the threads re: people's experience with the 18+ calibration kit (including myself) and I guess that...
  17. So I swapped my JLT CAI back with the stock one today...

Assuming you're asking about the Power Pack 2, which comes with the open element air intake, it's actually a question I thought about as well (not that I have 15-17, but just random thoughts using the stock airbox like you said, with just the PP2 tune it comes with) However, like accel said...
  18. Front License Lawbreaker!

My response to RKRZ's post wasn't a "defense," it was a response to his comment, having a discussion on the topic, sharing a different experience or understanding of it, and being open to seeing if correct or not (i.e., my next post to StangTime). Next time, check yourself and read through how a...
  19. Front License Lawbreaker!

Haha right, right. You know what, having learned this from you guys, I will be giving my provider a call real soon to see get some "updated" info. I use a broker too, so just for kicks, I'm going to ask him just to see what he says and understands of this.
  20. Front License Lawbreaker!

No way? So my insurance provider is either lying, or is not correct, or actually considers them "moving violations." My last insurance provider did, as well. Reasoning I was told is because, (paraphrasing) just like speeding, as soon as you drive the vehicle in contradiction to an act that...
