  1. Mach 1 or GT350…

"There are mass damper weights mounted all over the GT350 chassis. It is amazing how much effort they put into damping the vibrations of this unusual engine, but people love the way it sounds, and it is made to rev up to a higher RPM, which helps it eek out more power (526 hp) than the 2015-17...
  2. Mach 1 or GT350…

The first time I saw a friends GT 350 up on a rack and saw all the counterweights underneath, that made me nervous. I'd go Mach 1. Maybe sacrilege, but not a VooDoo fan.
  3. Question for the Community: Trade, Mod, or Stay Put

That's the beauty of the Mustang platform, there's something for everyone. It's like shades of gray...
  4. Oil catch cans on the '18+ Coyotes

On my 2017, I have a UPR setup with the return filler on the drivers side. Even with port injection, it's amazing how much crude it captures. I'm sure some small percentage makes it back through the induction system, but it at least feels good to know that most of it gets captured.
  5. Why does everyone else drive like a pos bc we have stangs?

To use a bird analogy, it's like when crows are swarming a hawk or an eagle near their nest, they primarily do it out of fear. This environment is the only one they know they have a chance to try an upstage. Consider it an offhanded compliment, albeit a dangerous one.
  6. This Is Ford's Plan To Fix The Mustang's Biggest Problem

Well, Mustang faithful, I do agree that it's a concern for sure. I will admit that I'm not on every social media platform, but one those I do frequent, I rarely see any advertising for America's icon. I'm sure that Ford has partners who are mining and crunching the data and know where to place...
  7. Why did you buy an automatic? (and why I ordered a 6spd)

I think it just boils down to what kind of driving experience you want to have.
  8. Has anyone given thought to this monumental change that’s about to occur? In less than 2 years…

Keep them and drive them for the next 30 years. I'm eyeing up a Cobra replica which I may purchase to round out the ICE fleet. The pedestrian transportation vehicles I won't mind turning over to electric or hybrid though...at least I don't think so. My children have laid claim to the...
  9. The clutch is so much different than the s197 IMO

Yes, it did. Both my 2016 Focus ST and my '17 GT have the hill-holder and accelerator bump feature. After driving my "old fashioned" 1985 GT, it was a bit startling the first time I experienced the hill-holder feature. Just Ford attempting to allay the fears of newbies purchasing their first...
  10. 2018 GT PP2 Rear Differential Overheating Issue

Speaking of Setrab engine oil coolers, I don't know how well this setup works, but would be curious if anyone has tried it: https://www.harrop.com.au/shop/engine-oil-cooler-ford-mustang-gt
  11. The Fate on the ICE

I will drive my "fun" cars as long as either I'm alive, or it just becomes untenable due to gas pricing or availability. I guessing that the transition to EV's is going to be a slow one. There are too many ICE vehicles currently in use, and there are too many unresolved issues on the EV side...
  12. Anybody bored with their car?

Maybe the wrong purchase for where you live, but if you have a race track reasonably close that offers track days, take it out on the track and then you'll see how impressive it really is. Highly capable performance cars make what we used to consider sweaty palm sessions that just aren't with...
  13. I love the mustang…but…

Maybe I got lucky with my '17, but fit and finish are actually pretty decent. I've owned Toyota's, Honda's etc., and they're not as perfect as portrayed by many. I have no doubt that quality is better than it's ever been due to competitive pressures from foreign brands over the decades. I...
  14. Piggy-Back Tunes

I saw this story about piggy-back tunes on Ford Authority regarding the 2022 Maverick and was curious if anyone has heard whether this will also be a consideration for future Mustangs? https://fordauthority.com/2021/11/2022-ford-maverick-gets-three-new-piggy-back-tunes-from-racechip/
  15. Life After The GT350R?

Looking to purchase a Superformance Cobra second hand this Spring. Should be fun!
  16. For those of you looking for Michelin PS4S replacements

Swapped my original Pirelli's for the PS4S's onto 19" x 11" all four corners along with camber plates and stiffer springs...wow is all I can say...even on the track!
  17. Ford Performance oil catch can

Too bad you didn't purchase the UPR option for the S550. A very nice system with a bracket that mounts the can next to the radiator on the passenger side. They also have a capture device for the drivers side valve cover. A very nice well designed and clean looking system.
  18. Thoughts on the 2023 Z06?

Outside of the flat plane design being somewhat similar...BTW, their intake butterfly arrangement does a nice job of metering out low end torque as well apparently, something the VooDoo was always a bit challenged with. Other than that, any other comparisons particularly those on road courses...
  19. $12k ADM on 2021 Mach 1

Hey, at least it's less than the $50,000 MU at a local dealership here in the Pittsburgh area for a 2021 GT 500! Unfortunately, as supply is low and demand is high, expect to see more of this not less.
