  1. Is it worth spending $1900 on radio upgrade to 8 inch system from infotainment?

Hextall remoted into my laptop after I installed the hardware and made the Forscan changes for me; nice for folks to know they can do so themselves if they have the toggles in an aftermarket unit or DIY conversion.
  2. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

Hi Brian, I recently just did my install (2015 V6 as well) and the APIM you receive is pre-programmed and ready to go. Everything, as far as the infotainment system, will work fine out of the box. The changes that need to be made to the car's programming are (I think) to activate the different...
  3. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/in-stock-new-sync3-theme-navigation-from-moddiction.53508/ It was Moddiction unit, I think, at the time it was about $600 (and included a Nav system, not great, but OK); it worked pretty well for me (a couple small glitches here and there) for about 5...
  4. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

Not quite sure, haven't gotten the equipment yet. I've torn my dash apart before to install an aftermarket unit that lasted 5 years and died. The video on how to disassemble the dash and remove the base radio will be helpful to watch; there will apparently be some changes using Forscan as well...
  5. SYNC 3 swap, It's all in here

Yep, I ordered mine from Hextall.
  6. V6

I have a 2015 V6 and a Roush exhaust, doesn't sound as throaty as an 8, but still pretty good. My average MVP locally is 20-21 and I average 28-29 on the highway.
  7. Ford moving towards custom orders, away from huge inventories

One of the things I effing HATE about car shopping is being barraged as soon as my feet touch the macadam in the parking lot. I just want to look and see what's what; if I want to talk to someone, I'll find them. Plus, as a lot of people have already said, you can get EXACTLY what you want, no...
  8. Ford moving towards custom orders, away from huge inventories

Maybe someone else asked but how would this affect leasing vs. buying? Still order EXACTLY the car you want, pick it up, drive for 2-3 years and drop it off where? At a dealer? Or will Ford pick it up like Carvana and whisk it off to be sold online as a pre-owned vehicle? Will 'dealers' then...
  9. How many of us have the base 4” unit?

Because the after-market unit (Moddiction) I had took a dump, I decided to go back to the base unit (4" screen) and see how I feel. TBH, at this point, the only reason I miss the bigger screen is for the back up camera, other than that, as most folks point out, the base unit has all the...
  10. Surprised this is considered "totaled"

Surprised no one else asked, how's your wife? I assume she came through OK? Also, having venison steaks for dinner?
  11. Top trim popping off

That is EXACTLY how I feel about mine, whether it's a 10 min run to the grocery store or 8 1/2 hours to NC, it makes me happy each time.
  12. New seats installed today

Hey, it's worth it, they look great! The red panels really pop; when my cloth seats start to look tired, that's the direction I want to go (except yellow panels)
  13. How many of us have the base 4” unit?

That's the thing, there's no 'right' answer. Obviously, folks who are interested in a car like a Mustang aren't going to consider a Corolla because it has a nice radio screen. And some Mustang owners are all about tricking out the appearance and others are about trying to get every last horse...
  14. How many of us have the base 4” unit?

Yep, same with me, that's what came with the car. I don't really care so much about the sync 3 appearance, if it looked exactly like the 4" screen but were bigger that would be fine. Just that for folks, ahem, 'in my age group', it's easier to see the bigger screen. Again, don't care about Nav...
  15. How many of us have the base 4” unit?

Understood, more curiosity than anything. Plus, it just boggles my mind that Ford continues to offer such an unattractive option on a $30k+ auto. My daughter rented a 2021 Corolla that had a beautiful screen for the radio, on a car that starts at under $20k.
  16. Is it worth spending $1900 on radio upgrade to 8 inch system from infotainment?

Absolutely! The only times [and they were rare] I ever used the Nav feature was when I was in an area where phone coverage was spotty/non-existant. I always use Apple maps or Waze, they are updated frequently without paying $100 to upgrade Nav maps. All I really want is a screen that's bigger...
  17. Is it worth spending $1900 on radio upgrade to 8 inch system from infotainment?

I tried reaching out to him through his website (not through the forums), maybe I'll try to PM him here. I figure, in the short run, I can go back to the 4" and see how awful it is/isn't. LOL, it's been so long since I did the upgrade, I can't even remember what it can/can't do...
  18. Is it worth spending $1900 on radio upgrade to 8 inch system from infotainment?

when I got my Mustang, that was one of the first things I upgraded, was a $500-600 unit from Moddiction, worked well until just last week. random reboots and freezes, scrambled screen, intermittently no sound. I tried doing a system reset a few times but that didn't seem to help. so trying to...
