Mustang S650 Design Previewed by ‘Progressive Energy In Strength’ Sculpture

Front what I know and the other renderings out there, this surprisingly wasn't a bad guess. I didn't acknowledge it, until some months passed and I encountered something tangible.

Northern climate/winter driven S550 Mustangs: how are they holding up?

Umm, that's not accurate. Me thinks it's 6 winters, about to be 7 soon. Remember that these cars came out 6 years ago.

Mustang S650 Design Previewed by ‘Progressive Energy In Strength’ Sculpture

In fact, back in August 2011, Ford showed the Evos, which had been designed to tease the CD391 (Fusion & Mondeo) due in fall of 2012. However, looks like the Evos also teased the S550 design process. Ford settled on a final S550 design in January 2012 and cleaned that up by summer 2012, fully...

Mustang S650 Design Previewed by ‘Progressive Energy In Strength’ Sculpture

Well, this old rendering makes plenty of sense now. It's derived from informed knowledge for sure, as it didn't come out of thin air from the little I know. Bear in mind this sculpture isn't fully representative of the vehicle in question. You simply don't give away all the details at once.

Mustang S650 Design Previewed by ‘Progressive Energy In Strength’ Sculpture

That's very much S650 to a degree. Wasn't expecting this to be shown, let alone in 2020. Should be seeing mules testing soon (behind schedule), followed by what is called Verification Prototype 1.

This is the brand new 2021 Mustang Mach-1

The Mach 1 nameplate return had been in planning, before C727 was internally christened Mach E in 2018.

S650 2023 Mustang Chief Engineer / Program Director is Michael Celetino

I wouldn't call it that exactly. Falcon would only be a good name for a very high-end version or special edition down the road. I have a major bone to pick with the name Warthog, because all I can think of is some ugly animal or Pumbaa from Lion King. I can only wonder which good ol' boy came...

S650 2023 Mustang Chief Engineer / Program Director is Michael Celetino

You are a little bit too on the money, because that's definitely coming and the best way to describe it. I hate the name Warthog and hope it comes as a Raptor. I'm guessing that the Wildtrak is a diet Raptor. Have seen some stuff that says a new Mustang and Bronco performance version come out...

S650 2023 Mustang Chief Engineer / Program Director is Michael Celetino

Certainly, much thanks LOL. I'm always fishing for info. My concerns are his previous responsibilities lying way too much in the front wheel drive segment. This seems to be his first RWD unibody vehicle in a long time. Maybe responsibilities are divided between S650 and S550?

S650 2023 Mustang Chief Engineer / Program Director is Michael Celetino

Looks like some important stuff wrapped up in May 2020 as well, via another S650 engineer. Hopefully that's a good thing.

S650 2023 Mustang Chief Engineer / Program Director is Michael Celetino

Doing some fishing around, I think I found the guy in charge of the whole shebang. Michael Celetino. And judging by the date he started, seems like CD6 Stang was shelved right when Hackett took over in May 2017. Looks like 5 years is being spent on this by him. He previously worked on 2017...

Disguised S550 Mustang Spied Testing - New Variant or Refresh?

I Interesting how early we saw a mule for the 2018 refresh and what turned out to be accurate and what didn't. Someone in this thread back in 2015 said they were hearing about a 465 horsepower Coyote. Turned out to be somewhat accurate.

Camouflaged Mustang Prototype Spied: Possible Refresh or Hybrid Model?

I'm loving how this all turned out to be somewhat correct considering that these photos were taken in February of 2019. My finding the 2023 model year Easter egg proves that this report was correct, because S650 is nothing more than a revised car and not all-new as ex-CEO Mark Fields intended...

    2021 Mustang Refresh Spied!

Oh, so you actually meant that you were referring to job 1 and not showroom launch? That makes more sense in terms of the Mach 1 is going on sale in Spring 2021. I think that either lead times are going to get longer between assembly and release, resulting in a May or April launch...

    2021 Mustang Refresh Spied!

Interesting stuff. Seems like the original 2021 Mustang the S650 (CD6), was canceled by Hackett a few months after he arrived in May 2017. My only concern is Anthony Colard doesn't mention anything outside of Mach 1. https://www.linkedin.com/in/anthonycolard...

    2021 Mustang Refresh Spied!

Interesting, definitely November 2nd must be production start for a 2021 Mustang. Meaning a January launch, as first units to dealer is about 2 months. My car was built in September and delivered in mid November. Thanks BTW. I hear that Fusion and MKZ production ends on July 30th?

    2021 Mustang Refresh Spied!

It's deliberate. They're holding out and I haven't been told that. Note that the other vehicle built at Flat Rock ends production on October 30, 2020. Maybe production begins November 2nd? Mach 1 production probably begins in January-February.

S650 Mustang launches in 2022 as 2023MY reveals Ford Linkedin post

Ford Design has apparently already completed work on the appearance of the next generation Mustang from what I'm hearing and it's due for what they called final data judgment (total sign-off). Any of you insiders heard similar? Makes sense because it took about the same amount of time with...

S650 Mustang launches in 2022 as 2023MY reveals Ford Linkedin post

In terms of model years it's 2021 to 2022. The S550 is not going on beyond 2022. In fact the "next generation" S650 has already been designed from what I hear and it's being locked in this summer. I pretty much helped leak the timeline for the S650, thanks to my cousin at Ford, giving me an...

Why are Guards Green's so expensive?

Guard Green is one of the richest Mustang colors and I wish I could've gotten a 2017 in that color. Ford knows what they're doing in suppressing supply of it. In Magnetic and Guard, it gives this car a very upscale look and cool elegance a Camaro can never hope to match.
