    CFTP wing mount water leakage

I skinned this cat slightly differently. Whichever way one chooses to solve this problem, painting the raw steel holes and sealing out the water are a good idea to prevent future corrosion issues.

    CFTP wing mount water leakage

I was thinking it was open-cell, like a neoprene wetsuit, which absorbs water.

    Carbon fiber mirror covers

The covers are cheap and go well with the wheels and wing. Nice work!

    CFTP wing mount water leakage

Looks clean, but my concern would be the neoprene absorbing water and staying wet, against your trunk lid.

    Mustang Brake Recall

Without doing any tire-warming burnouts. All I could muster was low 12s on the 4S tires. I have to go back through my slips (we did a crap ton of runs). I think I hit 128ish, which my buddy that was watching said was the highest trap speed. I won all my heads-up races but one when I tried a high...

    Mustang Brake Recall

Thanks KB... it was an epic day! I did not inquire about the brake recall. The max I hit was 135. Our group was 2-3 students... some sessions it was just the two of us with the instructor and a couple had another crazy student with us. We were haul’n ass and rather tight. If I was on the...

    Mustang Brake Recall

Spent all day yesterday absolutely hammering on the brakes at Charlotte Motor Speedway for round 2 of the Track Attack. I drove much more aggressively this time around. Two of us were put in the “fast group.” We ended up lapping groups, which was fun passing on the steep banked turns. The...

2020 Shelby GT500 CFTP wing-trunk lid corrosion problem fix! (video)

I ended up with quite a few comments that the rear deck lid was aluminum and would not corrode. Here is a follow-up short video:

Track Attack (take 2) Oct 15th!

It’s an amazing day... you guys will have an absolute BLAST! If you haven’t seen any videos of the event, I recommend watching the last section of my video below. The track is challenging. Getting a feel of the layout before you go would be helpful. Even though you are doing lead-follow, I...

Track Attack (take 2) Oct 15th!

Awesome, yes... I remember. Are you flying back after the event or the next day? I flew home the same day the first time and was SPENT! I’m spending the night there after the event.

Track Attack (take 2) Oct 15th!

I am heading back for round 2 in Charlotte! For anyone attending the Track Attack on Oct 15th, plan to meet at Hooters for dinner at 7:00 the night before (14th). They close at 9:00. We can migrate next door to Hotshots Sports Bar and Grill afterwards if people are interested. Some of us are...

Seven 2020 GT500s out together! (video)

I get those questions often on my channel... I got some from eBay, some from Etsy as well as Hatandshirt.com.

2020 Shelby GT500 CFTP wing-trunk lid corrosion problem fix! (video)

As you saw in the video, I put the silicone around each bolt hole and then around the perimeter of the wing support bracket. I then bolted it into position wet and let it cure in place.

2020 Shelby GT500 CFTP wing-trunk lid corrosion problem fix! (video)

Thanks guys. Good discussion. I think my method will keep water out. If I ever need to remove it, I think the mounts will still come off since the caulk was put against shiny/glossy clear.

2020 Shelby GT500 CFTP wing-trunk lid corrosion problem fix! (video)

In this video, I disassemble my 2020 Shelby GT500 CFTP wing and mounts to discover a problem affecting the track pack cars. These cars have an issue where water is being trapped against bare metal. If this isn't corrected, corrosion will result. I show my solution to this looming problem...

Seven 2020 GT500s out together! (video)

P Thank you sir! I don’t drive the car in the rain, so I have it permanently out. I put some sticky Velcro on it and put it in my trunk along with the tool kit “just in case.” The only time I put it back in was to wash the car, but that was after a long cruise and it was splattered with big...

    Vinyl decals "flair mod!"

Ahhhh, gotcha! That makes sense... good mod Jaime! Awesome! I might be doing a bit more soon...

    Vinyl decals "flair mod!"

I vaguely recall seeing that mod thread and thought it was handy, but I’d be concerned about it coming loose some how. It would be bad if it dislodged while driving. I plan to get the carbon fiber hood vent as soon as one becomes available. My rain tray will only get put on for washes or long...

    Vinyl decals "flair mod!"

I would do the rain tray vinyl if I actually used my rain tray. I have it out most of the time since my car is a nice weather machine. I just put it back in to wash the car, but it’s coming back out again.
