That's what I really liked about my 2013 Shelby GT500, is that huge Heat Extractor in the hood for the hot air from the radiator, etc., could exit via the huge heat extractor.
The 2017 Roush has the two heat extractors, but the holes in them are only about 1", which is not doing anything.
So, I know there are threads about Hood Scoops and such, but
every time I look at my 17 RS3 Hood Scoop, I think, if a person cut the front out of that, it's about an 1" gap across the front and then cut under the Scoop into the hood, it would be functional.
But, I have never acted on this as...
I know they were thinking, Wow, how could he sell that car. Sometimes you can be blinded by the money, but money is Not everything.
That Car is special as it is like 1 of 2 on the Roush list, I think. It's been several months since I looked at it.
I had this happen in my old 93 Chevy C1500 Truck. Was driving to the Gym and the back glass just Popped with a loud POP.
Did kind a surprised me. I didn't know if someone was shooting or what.
It was a 100 degree day, so that could of had some effect.
Just weird when it happens and the why!
Just an FYI. If you really like the car, don't do what I did 4 months ago.
I got a incredible offer of my 2017 Roush RS3, in my Avatar , and thought I was doing the right thing. Take all the money and run.
Turns out, the first night, I laid in bed and all I could think about was that Car.
The CF drive shaft.
When I had my 2013 Shelby GT500, I was always worried about that. And I worried about the age and if it would degrade over time, but I have since traded that car, so not a worry any more.
Roush needs to step it up and should have sent one of their guys when this first started and not waited months later.
Even if it cost them $20K, that is their issue. Reputation is easy to lose and hard to get back.
Big question is how many others are out there like this and are not on this web...
I would be interested if the side vents from the new Max Cooling Kit could be purchased separate and put on my 2017.
Should help with the under the hood temps.
These cars trap a lot of heat under the Hoods.
I have a 2017 RS3 and since I don't do any Track Days or extend WFO events, I just run Pennzoil 5w30 Ultra Platinum.
It kind of splits the difference in weights and Walmart.com, it's about $55.00 for 2 -5 quart bottles. Very good price.
I have a 2017 Roush RS3. This is the third Roush that I have had over time.
I have never bought them new as they are way too expensive, but after 2-3 years, they come down.
I like the looks, what you get from Roush, etc., is good stuff.
But the new 2021 RS3's are $80K+, Dam.
RS2 would get...
That would make a difference. I am on the other side. My kids are grown and married.
Maybe once the kids are grown you can rejoin the bikes.
Who knows what we will have in 20 years. Flying bikes?
Good luck to you and enjoy those kids.
I hear ya, but again, as I said above, I refuse and will not give up something and live in fear.
And as I said above, We all have a choice.
I choose to live my life and will not give up something I have enjoyed my whole life doing.
Only You can make that choice.
A person can die in a...
I refuse to live in Fear and will not live afraid to do something I so enjoy.
If we did that, none of us would do anything.
An accident can happen in a Car, Train, Airplane, walking down the street.
I will keep riding and if something happens, then it does. But I do all that I can to prevent...
