  1. Science is now cancelled?

The upcoming Lightning looks pretty amazing, while I think the pre-orders were a little low, I think it'll become the "go to" EV truck product. Traditional styling, great entry price, "work" version, huge frunk (which solves a pickup truck issue, closed/lockable storage), fast, all sorts of...

Model 3 Performance. I couldn't justify more expense when it sits in the garage about 90% of the time - plus, to be honest, I like the slightly smaller size. It has outstanding interior space vs. the exterior, it's like a 5-series in a 3-series body (make that a BMW M3 :D), the full clear roof...
  3. Science is now cancelled?

I've been tempted to ask about about it, I mean, if you're having a conversation with someone - which is pretty analogous to posting/replying back-and-forth in the same thread - would you preface every response with a greeting? I'm going to try it, next time I chat up the neighbor: "Hello...
  4. Science is now cancelled?

I vehemently disagree and offer this thread as evidence ... I know a couple of space locusts, they say the insurance package is good, hours are decent, and having to consume all life on any planets in your path gets pretty fun by the 2nd or 3rd time ...
  5. Science is now cancelled?

Yep. This is what we talked about dozens of pages back, there has to be a reasonable, starting point for discussion. If we're talking about EVs, and your first comment is, "They're powered by the tormented souls of atheists ..." then we can't even start the conversation. Hahaha, BTW, 19 isn't...
  6. Science is now cancelled?

I'd echo what's already been said, identification and early treatment - especially in 2021, we've got some good, effective protocols for cancer, if it's even that. I mean, there's dozens of other diseases that present many of the same symptoms. Sounds like she's got a bit of that old school...
  7. Science is now cancelled?

I won't need anything, 3 year lease and done. It's fast, quiet, roomy due to the lack of a transmission tunnel, gas tank, in the trunk we had a ~21 quart Camp-Zero + dolly, 3 rollers, computer bag, 2 "personal" bags, and a large bag for the changeover clothes for our days at the park back on...

St. Aug to a flight out of MCO [Orlando], returned a few days later, and headed over to a room/suite at the Portofino, a few more days, headed home. Total cost for ~280 miles, ~$4.00 Now who was the fuckwit saying it more costly to drive an EV? :cwl:
  9. Science is now cancelled?

The nursing home angle is a simpleton talking point picked up from Fox News and Breitbart.com, it's inane, and irrelevant. You don't even have a baseline for a real discussion - as the person who I assume you're replying to - has no background/education in [basic] statistics, epidemiology...
  10. Science is now cancelled?

*sigh* OK, off on my world tour ...
  11. Sold PP2 and replaced it with PP1 Convertible. Wish me luck....

First mod: Smart Top module. You're welcome :D
  12. Science is now cancelled?

Well, you'd absolutely want to add a 50a circuit (good lord, someone here said that was $1K-5K, a 12-18" run near a garage breaker box is about $300), and a decent Level 2 charger, there's options under $400. Clearly, some locations in the US don't have the same charger density as others...
  13. Science is now cancelled?

The rates I posted are for Tesla Superchargers, no special rates, nothing other than buying the car (though if you use a reference code, you get 1000 miles for __free__). Non-Tesla chargers vary a little more, but they're all about to get cheaper, more consolidated, several major manufacturers...
  14. Science is now cancelled?

I probably know the Mustang owner AND the Tesla owners :D And dude, the people with the Teslas made a conscious choice, and all the owners I know are enthusiasts, had dozens of ICE vehicles (and possibly still own one or more) I don't know why it's "sad". Weird.

$0.28 150 kW Supercharger, it's located on Marburg Avenue. BTW, Musk posted about upgrading all Superchargers to support 350 kW, nothing supports that yet, I don't even think the new Plaid, maybe the Cybertruck[?] I mean, here's what would be a stop for us headed to our place in The Keys (in...
  16. Science is now cancelled?

Nope, no BS, it's all available in real time - and honestly, why would I give any fucks enough to fabricate that data, that's absurd. Give me a close address to "your home", where I could locate a Supercharger ...
  17. Mac & Cheese Ice Cream

I've had few different savory-ish ice creams that were pretty good. Well yeah, that's what I thought at first ...
  18. Can we have a funny meme thread? (NO POLITICS!)

Car indicator: "Check Engine" Me in high school: "Yep, it's there" *drives 2 more years with light on*
  19. Science is now cancelled?

FYI, I've been seeing some absolutely wrong info being posted about charging rates, sounds like typical FUD from people who get their "facts" from, well, you know ... :D Anyway ... As an example of a real trip that we might take*, FL to PA, SuC rates are $0.24 to $0.27 (a few @ $0.12 off hours...
  20. Testing a work-around for not embedding youtube links

I didn't realize people were having this issue, just embed it explicitly as a URL, i.e., use the "link" menu item: That will force wrap it with an unparsed link: ex: HAULOVER WAS THROWING HAYMAKERS!
