Check the driverside valve cover bolts. Mine had a burning smell with no smoke. Valve cover was leaking, 6 bolts were literally loose. Tightened them, cleaned away oil, seems to be good now.

you should have an alignment machine or a bumpsteer gauge to accurately install these. i would not suggest doing it on your own without being able to see the changes in toe.

I removed mine about a week and a half ago. the pedal feel is just like everyone says, more linear. i still think the clutch feel sucks, but it is much easier to drive "right".
