I understand....I too decided to go w/ only dry element filters. This FP (Airaid ) IS dry. Actuallt, @this very moment I'm putting it on my car! Lol! Will be installing my JLT custom color CAI w/ their dry filter & tune very soon but headed out on vacation and my oem is very dirty. Trust me, I've got my hands on the FP filter right now & they are a dry filter.

Just wondering what the concern is with using the k+n reusable cleanable oiled filter. Is it over the mass air flow sensor becoming contaminated? I just ordered one as I heard ford has doubled the cost on the motorcraft filter.

90% of the time its that people over oil them or don't wait for them to dry when re-oiling, get the MAF dirty then blame the filter.

The other 10% is people thinking the tiny bit more dirt they let in actually damages something when they barely but 60K on the car in 10yrs. Yet others do over 100K in 6yrs and have 0 issues.

Very happy with my dry blue Airaid filter, washed it twice so far, still looks like new, make sure you let it dry throughly otherwise it will get your MAP sensor doing funny things ! ;)

I used a K&N oiled filter on my Canyon pickup from brand new until I traded it after 9 years. Never once had a problem with filter. About every 6 months I'd clean it with K&N oil filter cleaner, oil it(as said to do just enough to make all the pleats red)let it dry a bit and put back on truck. And I would also spray the maf with maf cleaner(easy just remove maf spray and put back in) Its when you over oil the filter that it gets oil on the maf and vehicle acts up. But still no big deal. If the maf acts up from oil getting on it you just take it out and spray it with maf cleaner and its good as new and put it back in.

Anywhere to get the OEM filter FA-1922 for a reasonable price again? Looks like it's minimum ~$50 anywhere. Cost me $12 from Autonation White Bear Lake a year ago. Don't know why there's a 300% price increase since then. :frusty:

Cheapest I found is rockauto.com. It is $44.79 plus shipping and tax. Also look on eBay - depending on where you are (sales tax situation) might be cheaper that way.
