I dont know. I kind of like not having "orange" lights anywhere and I love the sequential tribar lights. Its unique on our cars. They will have to modify it in euro-spec but I can't see NA spec making this mod, other than to be different.

It only appears amber when in use........at all other times, there are 3 red tails back there

Yeah I really like the sequentials - would never want what I saw in that video.

Can't believe that I will have to modify my UK car as soon as I get it. White lights! What were Ford thinking.

Firepath 03-06-2015 05:42 PM

Yes this is perfect. Whoever is doing this conversion WILL MAKE A KILLING selling those lights with a core / exchange setup.

Ford, this is how it should have been for those that need amber indicator lights. And fix those export mirrors, just make them bigger rectangles FFS instead of the awkward angle shape.

but is this just for grey market cars? won't they come with the correct uk spec tails for official imports?

Twin Turbo 03-07-2015 10:19 AM

Yes and no.........whilst the car shown is a US spec import, the official EU cars will have clear tails. Now, if the owners are happy with those clear tails, all good. BUT, this proves that you can get hold of a set of US spec tails and convert them for use over here.......so no matter whether it's an official EU car or a grey import, we can have the cool red tails.

here is another version that is still sequential and has a fog light as well

It just begs the question.........why did Ford think we'd prefer clear tails?

thumper 03-07-2015 10:23 AM

ford engineers were reading too much of the back section of max power magazine

Firepath 03-07-2015 06:32 PM

I have a feeling Ford will be fixing it in a year or two. I feel, from what they said, that this year was just a "getting it out there" year, no real investment put into the international cars, just enough to make them legal. Once it starts showing to be worthwhile, they'll invest in making it more attractive for the international buyer.

And I just realised my core idea won't work as the cores would have clear lenses lol. Still, someone will be doing it and making fat stacks.
