You are buying a brand new car and you honestly believe that your cars market value will increase from day one? You can't possibly believe that.

So if I had offered my 2016 GT350 track pack to the open market for $2,000 more than I paid, you don't think I would have any takers. If even one person would have ponied up $2,000 over what I paid, then my car would have increased from day one. I paid $1.00 under msrp.

Can you possibly believe that I couldn't have gotten a taker at 2k over msrp?

I have an R at MSRP, really I could not sell it the day it arrives for a profit?
I don't even like to think about it, I bought it to drive, not sell.
Value going up is cool, But I don't want to sell :)

I have never seen or heard of new car appreciating in value. Looks like I just don't get this whole "R" thing. Oh well, hope you guys enjoy your cars when they arrive! I just would think that it is really not logical to exepct these cars to be worth more than you paid for them in 3, 4, or 10 years.

Not for the 37 2015s. 2016s may start to dip or hold its value. But being that so many are getting butt raped out there on ADMs with the R, the resale won't be near msrp.

Ferrari Enzo 2003, Ferrari Laferrari 2014, McLaren P1 2014, Porsche 918 2014, Porsche 911 GT-3 RS 2015, Ford GT 2005-2006, ect. All have higher production numbers than a 2015 and 2016 Shelby R and have gone up immensely since their first launches. Guessing you haven't heard of any of these cars?

Yea all super car category and all one of a kind MYs. Enzo won't get replaced by a newer faster Enzo and the same for Laferrari, P1 and 918. 911 will go down once replaced. GT350 will keep getting replaced by the next best mustang.

The 37 2015s for sure will go up immensely but all I'm saying is I don't see 16s and 17s with the same value.

I just hope that after all this hype, Ford doesn't throw a price tag of 80-90k on the next gt500 or next best mustang.

Not necessarily. The P1 for instance was in production for two years i believe. And looking at the previous model 911 rs. It is still selling above MSRP There's one for over 200k. Yeah it's a totally different class of car but still an example of modern vehicles that have appreciated At this point who knows when the 350 will end production seeing as how the last one was made in 1970. Also, the 350 has something going for it being it is probably the last big n/a engine special edition mustang to be made. Theres something to be said for that.

It's funny how off topic a thread can become because one person feels the need to change the topic to how other people should spend their money and that their cars aren't as valuable as they perceive. If we could get back on topic that'd be great. DID ANYONE THAT ORDERED A R GET IT AT MSRP?

It's because people feed the animals at the zoo, Enzo.

Admin came by here and cleaned the joint up but slopper likes it sloppy around here and people feed into it by arguing his nonsense. Believe me... He enjoys it.

Gotta love a guy who missed his exit.
( I always said you can't get lost in a Mustang)
Reading what is said about this guy, great to see him
get a car like this.
Would love to see that collection some day :)
Here's a good write up (with some pics) of his collection... click here.
