When I originally saw the 2015 mustang I fell in love. at the time I was still working through my apprenticeship as a utility lineman and I would have had to trade in my 2004 Avalon to buy the Mustang which means it would be my DD here in Western NY and didnt want to try to DD through blizzards just to get around. Im at a point where I can now afford to purchase it while also keeping my Avalon as my DD during the winter and if I need to haul people around.
I found a 2015 Mustang GT Premium
401a
Auto transmission
Reverse park assist
20" foundry wheels
Adaptive Cruise
Premier trim
Navigation
Spare tire
Floor mats

MSRP is 44,455
Invoice is 41,603
Dealer offered me 40,965 + TTL

I would be putting down 3500 and my payments would be $655 a month at 4.9% @72 months although I would have it paid off sooner.
What does everyone think of this deal?
PS. This is the exact car I had been looking for. If i want to shift gears I always have my ZX6R

Not a great deal considering 2016s are coming out, should be a lot less.

Why? Same car, just a carryover. Not like the '16 is dramatically different.

Not a bad deal at all. I would look around for better interest rate though. Below invoice deals are not as common as some would have you believe.

There is one at my local dealer for $44.5k and is marked down to about $38k. I'd also check around for a better interest rate, unless you have bad credit, that is high.

4.9% was just a number the dealer threw out there without running my credit. Credit score is 790 so I know it will be better once I have them run my credit

Oh ya, you'll be looking at 2.25-2.5%, that will help bring your payment down.

Invoice price is easily had, and there's a 500 dollar incentive right now. Combine this w/ $750 off pamphlet coupon and that should be the most you'll pay - a hair over 40k. 5% at 72 months is laughable - you really want a 6 year car payment with that kind of cost?. Credit unions can get you below 2% with good credit. Most loans offer better rates first at a 60 month threshold, then at a 36 month threshold. If you can pay it off sooner I'd go for a 60 month loan.

I forgot exactly how that worked... Do you request a mail brochure on a mustang and it'll have a chance at having the rebate? I only remember getting one for my last car, not actually how I got it.

Also, I'm assuming that deal is still going on? That was years ago when I got mine, it'd be nice to hear that Ford is still doing that.
