Just curious.. at what point would you need to alter the maf functions? Only if tube size changes? or more mods?

Tube doesn't matter, the maf is a separate piece. You would change it if you wanted to use the maf on a different car or if the range of the stock maf wasn't enough. If you added a supercharger for example.

I LOVE the idea but $420 is just a little rich for my blood. There is definitely a CAI in my future but I'm struggling with the cost. A sale or group buy would push me to open my wallet.
