Ford Germany showed the 2015 first time at a car show on Nov. 28th, 2014. The Motorshow Essen is a SEMA type carshow and draws 360.000 visitors. Together with Ford Dealer Reintges they showed the new european version of the 2015 Mustang 5.0, which will feature a V8 grille with a 6cyl. lower grill due to the bigger oil cooler, Pioneer equipment, no visible antenna, white rear lenses, interior upgrade and many suspensions mods. Team RS refined the set-up for european roads.
7500 units plus the 500 Champions League cars are planned for 2015. Order books open from January 15th, production in Flatrock from March, delivery in April 2015. 5 havens are choosen for european imports. Pricelists ready in January, but have been handled behind the curtains already at this show and previously. Will make it difficult for "grey" importers, especially with all those mods.

The european equipment/package was recently changed with a managing change, the chinese version has some different colour trim and the RHD is handled by the UK branch, but in general the export package is mostly the same. 19" wheels standard due to the choice of tires in Europe.
Dealers will be informed today in Bruehl.

BTW this yellow one is a prototype of the european version, it does not feature all of the mods and equipment yet.

The lower grill looks like the one for Stangs with ACC. Any information on that?

Bigger oil cooler for Europe. Reason for the different lower grill on the 5.0.
10 colors will be available they said.

Would be interesting to see the European oil cooler and get the part number of it. I mean, why buy a aftermarket part if Ford has a bigger genuine oil cooler in their own shelf's for the Mustang?

But what a bad presentation on that show for a car like the Mustang.

True, the audio system collapsed after that. Bad day. The problem for Ford Europe is to maintain interest for a year, while not earning any cent with it. Just spending money on launches and promotion with no return of investment is for sure not the current philosophy. Mostly using social media and a few occasions like at many european club events and creating a PR buzz is all they can afford spending up front and then the pricing is crucial, once it will be available. So there is little to waste for them. We better have an affordable sportscar on the road than money given to agencies for flashy shows. Still Ford Europe has for sure spent already 750.000 - 1 million Euros or more on showing the few prototypes around. With a planned year production of 8000 exported EUROPEAN cars, it is easy to understand that any Show-Euro extra hurts. Brochures are now in print and the bigger campaigns have yet to come. Buyers will be more impressed with the low prices.

5Towner: I hope the 'unlucky' 8700 (like me) actually get told when the books open. Looking at the ages it took for Ford to send any feedback E-mails after that UEFA action ... I am kind of expecting to get only told when all the allotments have gone. Especially with the incredibly low number we'll likely get here in the Netherlands. Of the UEFA 500 allocations only 8 were assigned to us after all.

listen from 2:45
Jorg Beyer from cardevelopment Ford europe about the Styling and about the eu-spec Advantages
Suspension set-up, larger Brakes and enhanced cooling System to enable the car to withstand top-Speeds over Long distances (flat out on german autobahns (i.e. where else in the world can you go North of 120mph over a distances of dozens of miles))

Thanks for the information I can not wait to be able to order one here in the UK. What I don't get is why have they done that to the rear lights? No need here in the UK to do that and they could have easily modified the indicator light in to that unit without losing the mustang look :(.
Also why do the Europeans not get the vents on the bonnet for the 5.0L models?
