I just wish we knew if there is even a chance that our cars will be done before they are cancelled. Maybe I'm feeling very pessimistic today, but I think we will get strung along for the next month and a half before Ford cancels next to all of our orders. I further predict that instead of a nice fruit basket, phone call, and heavy discount from Ford by way of apology, all we will "get" will be the opportunity to jump the line on the 2022 orders, and be obligated to pay the additional cost increase for the '22 year. Actually if I'm being honest I bet they will put us behind the current pre-orders because that requires less effort on their part.

Personally if it comes to that, I'm taking my deposit from Granger and buying an overpriced used GT350 or Porsche rather than wait another half a year to see if Ford honors their word on these.

I have my original order ( a white PP GT premium) to be produced on 11/05.. I have had so many thoughts the last couple days of just going with that one instead of rolling the dice. But I think my heart is set on a Mach 1. So I emailed Granger and got a quote for a 22, I think I might go that route if it happens.

My advice- order, then forget about it. Donā€™t read any of the Ford emails until the dealer calls you with the car. And donā€™t check the forums šŸ˜¬

Can't say I haven't considered the Lexus IS 500 F Sport as an alternative if my Mach 1 got cancelled.

They could fix this fairly immediately if they really wanted to. They donā€™t want to upset the unions who run the ports. Our military logistics specialists, transportation specialists and equipment would make quick work of it. It would be an incredibly proud moment to witness our military saving Christmas!
I'm sure they could do a better job of it if they had the access to do so. But the legalities and challenges of the access itself precludes this from being a realistic solution. Not flaming you at all here. I'm a combat vet myself.

Being down here in Long Beach CA, obviously a huge port, the finger pointing and back and forth is really at acrimonious levels between the dockworkers, (longshoremen), truckers, shipping companies and politicians. Over 100 ships are off the coast with ~45 due this weekend.

Here is a rough synopsis of last couple of weeks according to the players involved....

So Biden comes down here makes a show, bloviates for a while, vows to have the port open all weekend blah blah, and nothing changes, primarily because they don't have the power to do so.

Longshoreman have been trying to explain how Biden and politicians really can't just wave a magic wand and fix the issue. Understand the port is not one entity, it leases out berths (dock space) to MANY shipping companies like Costco, Maersk, Hanjin ect. The shipping companies don't want to pay the overtime for overnights and weekend hours to unload even though longshoreman are willing to do so, so the longshoreman union says. They also claim that they are moving so many containers they are running out of space to put them. Its getting so bad, trucking companies and port storage companies are dumping 20ft Conex containers on residential streets adjacent to port blocking peoples driveways, LA police came out to write tickets. One resident had his Honda crushed by a container that fell on it. At the same time understand the longshoreman union is incredibly powerful here, very well paid, and the port ranks as relatively inefficient compared to others in the world. They have really carved out a nice slice for themselves, but in this case I'm inclined to agree with their position, the shipping companies simply don't want to pay the overtime, that combined with a huge traffic back up and now you have a problem on your hands.

Truckers are claiming to be queued up for miles trying to get in to port, they point out that some berths have been empty overnight and weekends, they want loads, but are not being provided with them around the clock, so they blame longshoremen. This makes sense to me, they get paid when they are moving, they don't wanna sit around, so if they had their way they would be moving.

Politicians have tried pinning this on everything from climate change, to COVID, to everyone and everything else besides the realities of how big business actually works in the globalized world. Nothing new, honest, or intelligent from them as usual... both parties simply trying to score points off the crisis. Amazing to see people still cult worship the politician of their choice, as if these so called "elites" actually give a S*** about anything other than maintaining power and plundering the public purse in the Kleptocracy that is America.

Heck I saw the media try to spin the empty shelves story by saying "the reason they are empty is because American's are buying so much, economy is great that is why there is inflation! blah blah...." This is total crap, there is heavy traffic and a bottleneck, all I need to do is look south to the coast and I can see the ships parked offshore, more than I have ever seen. Empty shelves are due to not being able to unload fast enough, nothing to do with purchasing too much. Shelves are generally only supplied for a couples days worth of things anyways, media is about damn worthless in this country, nothing more than sing song propagandist if you ask me.

Everyone is now seeing the downside to super efficient "just in time " supply chains and offshoring literally everything. There are many costs to doing business as we have done for 30+ years, and this part of it is rearing its ugly head now.

Well, I just got an update. Here you go:

We have made an adjustment to the production date for your 2021Mustang Mach 1.

Your vehicle is now scheduled to be built the week of December 27, 2021. We will continue to keep you informed regarding your vehicle's production status.

Thank you.

Mind you, this car has the HP. Itā€™s going to be interesting to see how this plays out given it has been assigned a VIN and has cup 2ā€™s.

Anyone else scrolling thru Cars.com/Autotrader.com looking at slightly used 2019/2020 GT350's? I know their a bit pricey at the moment, but they actually exist...tempting, but probably just shopping around for grins:-/

I thought they stopped producing 2021 the week before that?

Sorry to hear that.
