Do you hide your car part purchases or make them sound less then they are?

Personal recreation cost come in three increments, $9, $90 or $900. It's all about the size of whatever you've just bought. That special wrench you had to buy to finish the project? That was $9. The new intercooler or radiator? That's $90. That new set of coil-overs? Those set you back $900. You can mix & match if you want. You might have just bought a set of wheels or tires. Those were $90 apiece. Bushings are $9, because they're small & plastic.

Don't get too greedy on what costs what and this works indefinitely.

I ask cause I am lucky My other half lets me live my life and I do as I want or buy what I want. But I see a lot of people always say well the wife said no or something like that. I got a friend who is constantly hiding car mods and parts from the wife LOL or he will make a 300 dollar part sound like a needed 20 dollar part :)

Was just curious if others did this and if so any funny stories of car part adventures?

LMAO "I got a friend" yeah sure ROTFLMAO

Anyone who asks his wife for permission needs to grow a pair. My wife did question all my car mod purchases and got irritated that I spent money on my car this spring, but I bring home plenty of bacon and I'm pretty good with my money (buying mods for my car not-withstanding) so I don't ask permission, nor is there anything to ask forgiveness for as far as I'm concerned.

Mine doesn't complain...though she did make a comment awhile ago that I spent 25% of the cost of the car on parts and services since I bought it a few months ago...I said no way..... I did the math, and she was right.

I only use the "the wife said no" to my friends when I really didn't want to do something. My wife makes more than three times as much as I do, and we've been married 29 years. I pretty much do what I want.

If you have to hide car hobby expenses from your significant other you need to work on your pimp hand.

We pretty much collaborate on everything, and are generally on the same page 99% of the time, whether that's a purchase, a movie, an investment ... or other more adult activities :D
