Thanx for the feedback...I know things are slow and it’s a sales pitch....I’ll add to the story...retired 2 months ago @ 62 and I have a nice nest egg to spend...don’t watch to be the richest guy in cemetery so a $500 mo payment won’t break the bank...like I said no rush and if I don’t like the numbers I’ll sell it privately.
You talked me into a new GT.:like:

And we have proof that the sales tactics do in fact work.
Not trying to be critical just pointing out that it sounds like you weren't considering a trade until the email came. If that's true then it did its job.
Whatever the reason I hope you enjoy the process and the new car.

he car I want to order is $48K what kind of a discount on MSRP can I anticipate?
Check Ted Britt's prices in Virginia. I drove down there to buy one.
There is another dealer down that way with good prices, forget the name. Could be fun driving down and back for a good deal.

You’ve got a car that’s probably already paid off, and the dealer is looking to get you to upgrade to a new car and maybe get another 30k out of your pocket.

if you want to uograde to a GT the smartest way is to take your time, find a used GT that had already taken the biggest part of the depreciation hit, and sell your car private party. About a year and a half ago I was getting those form letters and texts too to try to get me to upgrade and trade in, but I’d rather have this car paid off and 80-90% of the utility of a new car, versus a brand new GT off the lot and debt for a few more years.
well said. the dealer is not doing any special favor. Just a gimmick to grab more of your money.

a well maintained used GT is the way to go.

Do yourself a favor and throw it in the trash barrel. They send one to everyone when they figure your car is paid off.

Just traded my 16 EB with 19k miles and in excellent condition.
KBB showed a max of $21k, Dealer gave me 19 for the trade.
Dealer gave me x plan pricing on a 20 GT PP1.
With another $5k deposit, my financing is $28k.
$360 a month with zero percent interest.
that’s actually a good deal.

If you can get a 2020 gt pp car for $48,000 I would seriously consider that

Personally, I like the big scratch off ticket like mailers!

Normal spam, BUT, there is actually a decent shortage of used cars right now. Overall, people are getting much more for trade ins than they were before the pandemic.

Wait, you're 62 and are looking to get into a payment? I think you still have some learning to do...

Before going to the dealer plug your vehicle data into vroom.com and carvana.com to see what they will buy them for straight out. Was amazed the other day when I went to both on mine and carvana was $4K higher than vroom.
I was curious and plugged my car into Carvana. They offered me 34k for my 2019 Base M6 GT with 10k miles. I'm shocked at that offer, I thought it would be ~30kish honestly.

Or how about when they send you a key with a letter that says you are a finalist. All you have to do is GO TO THE DEALER and try your key. If it works you win the car!

Yup, I was definitely surprised. Vroom offered $30k+ which I figured was pretty standard but then carvana offered $34K+.

As of a month or two ago there's a huge used car shortage. These mailers are almost always a sales tactic, but with covid there's potential for a deal.

I was shopping my 2017 ecoboost and had multiple Ford trade-in offers for ~15.5k. I listed online and was approached by a Ford dealer who paid me $18.5k outright (not a trade in).
