As stated in the title, I just picked up a 2018 GT with a Whipple 3.0. The car has 7600 miles on it. The previous owner did tasteful mods (the best being the obvious). That said, this is my first supercharged car and first Mustang.

I am looking for some insight as to maintence intervals, proper products to use, etc. I ‘ball on a budget’, so I want to keep this as street-able and reliable as possible. Getting to know this girl and she is ... fiiiinnneeee

Thanks fam!

Nice looking car. The Whipple instructions are online and tell you what to do. Supercharger oil needs changing every 100k miles and they recommend 5w50 motor oil IIRC. I personally run 5w40. It will go through spark plugs faster than stock as well.

Sorry, IIRC? why do you run 40w as opposed to 50w? Are you a New England guy by chance?

And, how often on the plug replacement?

Otherwise, fluids and maintenance is dependent on driving and Ford schedule?

Iirc = if I recall correctly.

I use 40 weight because pennzoil platinum euro isn’t available in 50. I figure since 20 was ok on other supercharged coyotes then 40 would he fine too since it’s closer to 50 than 20.

I’m not in New England....far from it.

I usually wait until I get a wot Mis-fire then replace plugs. Thinking maybe something like 20-30k miles or so. I had the same issue with a tuned ecoboost. If you wanted to be pro-active you could just do them every 2nd oil change at 20k.

I just noticed the Whipple instructions recommend replacing the plugs every 20k miles.

UPDATE: 5w50 Mobil 1 has been flushed and replaced with a topper of coolant and she is running like a gem! Thanks everyone.
