Hmm. I have to do this now. Not because i actually drive with rain tray installed, all my data suggests its faster w/o. However, for r simplicity sake of washing the car, just slap it up and pull.it off when done.
Excellent idea
I agree, it’s exactly why I wanted it too.

Interestingly, the Ford engineer at the Track Tour said the car is faster at the strip with the rain tray installed.
Obviously it’s faster without the splitter wickers and gurney flap, as they mentioned, but then added it’s faster on PS4s and with the rain tray installed. Which I questioned but they said yes to the tray and PS4s.

Ya but, those of us that bought ‘08-‘09 GT500KR’s found out that this approach comes with a big “Shelby Tax”. The parts are available (after you validate ownership), but expensive....
What number is your KR?....Mine is CSM No.09KR0343 (# of fire fighters lost in the 911 towers.
Shelby Tax. Can't argue there..

Yes, indeed. Was time for an update — thanks! Maybe another update after next weekend...
That's a beautiful ride. I almost went with race red on the 500

I thought long and hard about Race as well, Tom but then I would have had two the same color and that wouldn't do. :-)

Jaime et al: I forgot to mention a couple things...

First, while wiping out the engine bay after the wash, I saw one of the tray screws sticking way out. Grabbed the torx set and attempted to drive it in but it wasn't going anywhere. MOF, it took all my umph pressing hard, to get it to break loose. When I got it out, it was obviously partially stripped and when looking in the hole I saw what I expected, it was out of alignment. I image the trays and the vent come as one piece to install so this probably happened elsewhere but clearly, someone said "screw it." (no pun intended.) :-)

Und zo, I'm gonna have to loosen 'em all, get it set properly, and tighten her back up. If this T25 won't work, I'll get a replacement.

SURE thought about those MAGNETS, Jaime! Too cool.

Here's the screw...

Secondly, with the wheels off, I opted to clean the front calipers and touch up some nicks. When I got my head behind the darn thing I about soiled my drawers...those were THE LARGEST TORX bolts I have ever SEEN. (I gotta get a ratchet set of torx, been meaning to do that for years,) but you can bet there isn't one THAT size in any "set." <grinning> I'd never taken a close look at those pads, either. Heck, they're just as monstrous as the calipers and rotor. Amazing.
I noticed on mine all the bolts were were worn near the tip.

Interesting...and either Dementia has REALLY set in or somehow, I missed that thread. <laughing...pretty soon, I won't even know WHY I'm laughing> ;-)

My guess is it's the power tool they use to drive them. Miss the hole a bit and sand off the tip of the screw.

Too many other things with higher priority need done around here so my tray will just have to do without one screw for awhile until I get her painted, decal'd, and MAGNETS INSTALLED! <grinning> Thanks to the JaimeMeister. <smile>

My granddaughter told me: “No more red cars!”
When I was getting ready to order the GT500, 4 of my 5 vehicles were red (including a Race Red ‘99 Mustang Cobra and the RR ‘16 GT350). So the garage needed some change. The house-frau vetoed green; that left TO. This is my current stable:

I had a 16 track pack. It was a solid car. Don't let that one go. The rest of your stable is diverse enough to offer variety. Very well done sir.

@Terminated was nice enough to take some pictures of my car. Here is a sneak peek he sent me.

Thanks Marcus!
