Started my Katzkin leather install and sound deadening. Finished the rear seat and deadening the other day. I will do the fronts 1 weekend at a time. The rear seats were easy. The hard part was climbing back there and using the peel and stick and mass loaded vinyl. Not many pics but here are a few. I was going to install the Shrader Performance rear seat delete I have new in the box, but decided to just keep the leather. If anyone I’d interested in the Delete, PM me for a super deal.

Finished the drivers seat today too. Here’s a few pics. Had one clip tear on me underneath but I just poked a couple holes and zip tied them. My car didn’t have the hanger on the headrest which is fine with me. I used zip ties where the 3 hog rings would have been. I’ll finish the pass seat next Saturday. Overall it was fairly easy taking my time. Just tough on the hands. I left the seats out in the sun and they were super easy to stretch. Honestly the easiest thing to do was the headrest. I got that done, literally in like 2 minutes. I was dreading it.

I also installed heated backs. I didn’t install them in the bottoms, as I don’t like the heat because I use them in the summer too for my old back. Lol

Was your original upholstery cloth? Hard to tell from the pics.

Good job with the leather install!

Yes, cloth. In hind sight I should have just cut it off rather that being careful about it. I figured someone around here might want some new cloth. I doubt it. Lol

how hard its it to do? what tools do you need?
It’s hard on the hands is about it. Be careful and take your time. Don’t force anything. Do one seat a day. I used some brand new throw away scalpels to do the cuts with. Cut the holes smaller than you think you need. You can always make them bigger. As far as tools, a couple torx bits and some interior pry tools. There are quite a few videos out there. Watch them several times over and it makes it easy. I’ve done interior work before but it’s still one of the easiest ones I have done.

Good luck. Check out my post... best practices and links etc. Btw, I sold my original cloth for $75... Which was better than throwing it away

Looks sweet! Does the black color get excessively hot?

I'd say that leather uphostery when in direct sunlight through the windshield or just with the car out in the sun soaks up and retains heat a lot more than cloth. I think well that's where it comes into play. The inverse is also true in very cold weather. I personally believe it's worth it!

I put some 50 tint on the windshield and of course tinted windows.

70% or even 90% blocks a tremendous amount of heat and just about all of the Uv. The difference between the mustang and my other untinted cars is huge.
Thanks, I've got a pretty dark tint on the windows. The car is black so it gets very hot in the summer. I'm trying to decide between Katzkin black or the alabaster looks pretty cool (no pun intended) to me.
