We had a big hail storm and my 2018 GT Premium 401a got pummeled.
It was in perfect condition before that with only 7500 miles.
Needless to say but it sucks!

Still waiting for actual estimate to be done because of so many claims locally and covid shut downs.
We did take it to a shop for a quick inspection.
He said one of the worst he's seen. May need new hood and one door because its just so much. The hail was golf ball size and some bigger.

I've never had to have hail damage repair before.
I know some can be done with paint less repairs as the shop said but just wondering if anyone has had this happen to their 5.0 and how the final results were.

If the damage is that severe, Id almost say they may total it out. Got a picture that shows the damage?

Plastic things like bumpers and spoilers being replaced, on top of possible body damage repair, either paintless dent repair or conventional body work and paint will make the repair pretty costly. Post a picture if you can

Hey OP, I feel your pain. This was mines before I got it https://poctra.com/2017-FORD-MUSTANG/id-Ai5LGMP3CkvCdGbx/MARLBORO-NY and it was totaled! If yours looks as bad as this then it is probably totaled.
The person that got it from the auction had it repaired and then decided he wanted something with 4 doors. I was able to steal this from him lol
While it was done well. I am not a fan of the paint job. I have been looking for parts from the same color car and replacing them. My biggest area is the trunk that I am looking for to replace.
If they end up paying you off for it you should probably purchase it from the auction and repair it.
This is the kind of salvage car to get, not something that has been in a wreck.
As I said, I feel your pain. Keep us updated and post a picture if you can

Thanks for the replies.
The pics I took don't do the damage justice but here are a few. I think I'd prefer a total but I'm still waiting to get in for a proper estimate.

I’m gonna say that’s going to be real close if not a total.

My Mustang went through a bad hail storm also. Thousands of dollars from insurance company to have PDR done. Local PRD guy did the work (for less than the insurance) and did a wonderful job. Not one dent left when he finished, looked new again. If paint is intact I doubt you'll get it totaled.

A good PDR guy will get you fixed right up. A few years ago we had golf ball and nearly baseball sized hail and it seemingly destroyed my 370z. Insurance deemed it 5k in damage but the PDR guy's fixed it so good you can't even tell! I'll see if i can dig up a pic of the damage, it looked a bit worse than yours.

Highly unlikely that they total that car. The hood and deck lid can be replaced, and a competent PDR guy can make the rest of it disappear.
