Hey all, Im boosting my 2019 10r80 GT and am split between p1x and d1x procharger. I plan to tune it to run on 85 either way. I know ill have to get a new fuel system (going with fore innovations), but my main issue is deciding which procharger head unit to go with. I know the d1x is slightly larger, which I assume means it would make more power... obviously I dont want to blow my engine, but Id like to be sitting around 750 wheel hp. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Personally I was gonna go with the D1X from all I read. However I’m gettin a great deal on a new whipple 3.0 stage 2 kit so decided to go that route instead.

I have the P1x. I love it and it has a lot of room to grow yet still. Plus Procharger is a really solid company to work with. Always quick to help over the phone.

P1X can make 900-950whp. So if you're staying under that go with the P1X as it will have a stronger midrange than a turned down D1X.

if you think one day in the future you'll build the motor and want over that, get the D1X. Because it's $225 upgrade now, later on its ~$1800.

I got the P1X and now that I built the motor I'm wishing I had gotten the D1X.

Give me a shout and we'll talk more in depth.. but..

P1X vs D1X is probably the most common question I get when it comes to the Procharger kits.

If you're going with a HO kit, do a P1X and spend the $225 you save on the stage 2 intercooler kit.

If you're going stage 2, go with a D1X if you have the intent to go e85 (which you state you do).. This gives you incredible headroom as the D1X has went mid 8s on this platform.

If you're going stage 2 BUT "know" (I say this because everyone thinks they'll be content) you'll be more than content at the 750-850 range, efficiently, you can go with the P1X.

TL;DR

Both are great headunits. Pick the one that gives you the room to grow.. if you think you'll ever need it.

D1x, because later on, you will want to feed the need....I'm at 750whp on pump+ octane booster with the standard pulley "4..88". if I went down one size on the pulley and changed to e-85 I'd be at 900whp like that...you cant do the same thing with a p1x and those 2 mods...

You definitely won’t regret getting d1x, there is a scenario where you may regret the p1x. If you want to really turn it up and go full stupid

Just a tiny percentage of members here will eclipse 900whp. What are the odds the OP will? Build the car for today, not what could be, would be or should be down the road.

Probably true but For $225 it’s a cheap upgrade. I just had to buy a new fuel system because the first one I bought wasn’t enough. Might have to do that with injectors too before long.

Its a $225 upgrade that will not pay off at that power level.

Same car at 750whp, with p1x versus d1x. The p1x will make more average HP, will be more responsive and quicker.
not the same car at 900whp It would be like twins with 900 whp vs any sc the higher torque takes over. The D1x will take over with more torque through out the powerband. I paid $225 more to have option to destroy p1x cars and whatever else gets in my way. After my trans gets built i will be stepping it up!
