Hi

Is there anyway to sync one fob to 2 cars? Have a 2108 Expedition and Bullitt, would be nice to have to only have one fob, carrying 2 is a pain :)

I was thinking that - between the Escape and the EB. It might be cool to have a fob for both. I suspect 'tain't possible, though. May not even be a particularly good idea.

Seems to me there are good reasons to do programming the would allow one fob to control two vehicles. There are good reasons for Mr Ford to prohibit such a development, as well. No doubt it could be done, but not likely.

may be able to order the transmitter under the cup holder since they are vin specific and then put it in the other vehicle, not sure it would work but thats my thought at least haha

First World Problems. Back in the olden times, Ford cars only had like 240 different keys. had my '73 Montego drive off on me once, used the key for a '74 LTD. Trunk key didn't work.

To answer the question, I doubt it and don't do it.

Not that I have ever lost a FOB, but if I lost one that worked on two of my vehicles I would probably be in a panic worrying about the possibility of both vehicles getting stolen...I know that isn't likely either..unless an insider at dealership knows you have both vehicles on one FOB.

Sorry OP, I know that was not helpful.

From a security standpoint, as others have stated, certainly not a good idea.

If it were possible, and I don't think it is, how would you lock/unlock only one car? Like if they are both sitting in the driveway and you want to drive one, wouldn't they both unlock? And how would you get only 1 to lock? And what about the trunks? Wouldn't they both open every time? Same question for remote start?
I don't understand the want or need to carry multiple fobs anyway. We have all our keys on a rack in the house and just grab what we need as we go so no carrying multiple big fobs anyway.

Not possible, fobs lock to one vehicle. They are reusable, but a locked to the latest vehicle they are programmed to. My company makes a transponder programmer for locksmiths. We get the call quite often for fleet vehicles/police vehicles. Just can’t be done.

Then there’s always this solution. It is the direction the industry is headed. Hyundai also offers this, and I think Volvo.

Go to page 64 and 65 of your owners manual . It will tell you how to program additional keys .

I wonder if you could take the guts out of each fob and put them together in a new housing that would work? Would require some crafting, but certainly seems possible if that's what you're trying to since there's a decent amount of empty space within the fob anyway.

Sounds like a lot of work, when it's much easier to just grab the correct FOB for the vehicle you are planning to drive. No one has asked, so I will ask. What will you do with the extra FOB(s) that would then be laying around and how do you keep from grabbing one of those instead?
