I sold my old one through tootle, which sell direct to the trade
I think you'll find tootle is no more...I had my Ecoboost on there, and did get some offers. I needed to sell a mini a few months ago and went to try Tootle - vanished!

I've had a couple of days to think, and had plenty of calls off recruiters since i updated my linked in profile to be 'considering my future' so I think i'm going to sit tight for now and try not to think about things until after Christmas. If I do get made redundant I reckon i've got enough cash to tide me over for 3-4 months, and im sure i'd find a job in that time.

Ho hum.
what game are you in?
I’ve been made redundant a few times over the years. It always worked in my favour.
The last time I decided to go contracting and never looked back. That was 15 years ago.

Im in software. Formerly managed a team of Consultants/PM's, but with my current company i'm a Development Manager, with 4 teams and approx 40 devs. Im not particularly technical anymore though.

I was close to going contracting last time i switched jobs, but having been in management for the last 5 years or so i dont really want to return to the coalface so to speak, and when i've looked previously you dont tend to find many contracting management jobs. :frown:

It’s worth you looking at Jobsite. There is a demand for managers of dev teams in contract market although perhaps not as many as there are for hands on.
Also worth taking a look at civil service jobs website.
There is a real shortage of tech managers in Government and there may be something interesting there for you.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you get to keep your Pony.

Thanks for the responses all. Leaving it with a specialist to sell for a cut isnt a bad shout actually, i might look into that.
If you're thinking of going down that route be very careful who you choose, I've seen a few posts on forums where they've sold the cars then done a runner with the money or stalled pretending it's being detailed to buy time hopefully selling another car to pay you because they gave your money to the last guy they didn't pay yet.

A little update on this... long story short, i was put at risk of redundancy about 6 weeks ago and they were cutting 24 down to 9 roles. We had to apply for jobs within the new structure and on Friday just gone i found out that i HAVE got a job (a promotion actually), and will not be getting made redundant.

That said, this process, and whats going on with COVID-19 has kind of made me fall out of love with my Mustang. I'd emotionally decided to let it go and now with the prospect of it being sat on the drive for 6 months with no where to go is just cementing that feeling.

So im ready to put it up for sale.... but i can't as we're in lockdown, so nobody can buy it!!!! :curse:

Edit - WBAC and Motorway.co.uk are both closed due to COVID!

i think you’ve answered your own question - it will be almost impossible to sell it right now - also don’t make a decision in panic mode and as you’ve still got a good job reevaluate in a few months time

You don't want to be another sheep with their bland euroboxes

You can sell privately, but you have a fairly small pool of people willing to spend 30k without the legal safeguards of buying from a dealer, especially as your Ford warranty will be running out soon unless you
Exactly. I wouldn’t want to drop 30k without main stealer services. HPI, service, MOT warranty, it just makes a load of sense even if they can be terrible.

My new employer shit the bed, they made all new employees still in their 6 month probation unemployed, furloughed 20% of staff and gave everyone else a 10% pay cut. Luckily the few weeks I was off have been rather enjoyable and this week start a better job

Go out for a drive, rekindle your love :inlove:
