Keep this in mind please. I’ve never used PPF on any car and I’ve hung onto cars and trucks for up to 13 years (current work truck). Sure I’ve had chips, dings etc. You know the stuff that just happens.
Although my new GT350 is a special car, I’m going to be driving it, not preserving it.
Do we need PPF if we aren’t tracking the car? Our roads are pretty clean here. My wife’s five year old SUV has hardly any marks on it at all after 45,000miles.
I guess it really depends on where you live or follow to close ;-)
Anybody have 20K on their GT350 without PPF?

I think it really depends on where you live and where you’re going to drive. All of my sports cars were driven on local roads for the most part and they are in pretty good condition overall. They have all fared well with virtually no chips on them since the roads are well-maintained and I only drive them during warmer times when the potholes have been fixed. My daily driver however is a highway car and that thing is completely destroyed in the front from all the rock chips it looks like it’s been sandblasted.

I would argue that these cars throw rocks like no other. At least get the rear impact area done on the quarters. You will be sorry if you don’t. I’ve never had PPF on my cars either, but after looking at used 350s without it, my mind quickly changed

If you are going to keep it the PPF is worth it in the end. I'm sure you really won't want to look at chips in the paint.

Ever ride a motorcycle without face protection? You feel a lot more than wind in your face
That’s for sure...yes I still ride and always with a full face helmet with a face shield.
Never been hit with anything more than bugs or very small particles.

Got the front mud flaps coming at the end of the week. Shouldn’t that protect the rear panels?

It’s pretty good shape. I’m not seeing any chips or scratches. I don’t drive it everyday. It’s a weekend fun toy or run errands toy. I live and work in the city so I usually take subway to work but since March 19 I’ve been all telework. Last weekend I had the cycle bug so I had the Ducati out Saturday and Sunday and the 350 stayed in the garage.

I’ll get you pics at what 30K looks like but I bought it with 20K. My recommendation is to put it on cause it does keep things pristine.

here’s another perspective. Do you want you car looking pristine or do you want it to have battle scars?

Nothing wrong with either, you’ll just have to accept one or the other. In my case, I’ll get the front bumper resprayed or wrapped 10 years from now or whenever I decide it’s worth the money.

I agree these MPSC2 tires fling rocks. But I have had the front rock guards since new and no issues yet. I find the worse case is traveling at highway speed where trucks throw rocks and you get them at high speed. I take evasive maneuvers (long before I get too close) when I see trucks, trailers and the bubba pickup with beer cans launching from the bed.

I pray for the day then the Deflector Shield becomes an automotive reality. Until then.... KHAAAAAAAAAAAN!

Opposing drivers seem to be our worst enemy.

Dave, makes a great point. Psst, even your buddies can unknowingly do your car harm when your traveling behind them and they got sticky tires. Picture a group of corvette/GT3 /Gt350 in a group with cup or sticky tires flinging every little pebble they catch. I’d want to be the lead driver in that group haha
