I have a working cable, and I downloaded the latest version of Forscan for Windows.

I am trying to start the diff pump in order to change the oil... But the buttons are greyed out in the control window... Do I need to buy an extended license?
Thanks

An extended license is needed. I don’t know about buying or a limited time free one. Check the site, choose what works best for you.

Thanks, I submitted a registration request on that forum... still waiting for approval.

As noone replied to my forum registration, I went ahead and bought a one year license... but I cannot turn the pump on... anyone has any idea, this happens even with engine on (mostly tried with ignition on):

Looks to me like your computer and the car are not communicating. I see the green blocks at the bottom that say they are, but the screen full of "unable to read DTC" messages says that it's not working. What OBDII plug are you using?

But it's reading all modules apart from DTC, not sure why that is failing.. It even detected the car and created a profile, but the config of pump is greyed out... Also the streaming fails, says it cannot connect...I am using this cable, as recommended by other member:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F0GVBWY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Could it be the cable? Which one you recommend?

Thanks

It's able to detect the modules but if it can't read DTC's, which is about the most basic function possible, then it certainly can't do anything more sophisticated, like control the pump.

The problem with these OBD connectors is that there's a lot of junk out there. I've used an OBDLink MX for this and it works fine on Bluetooth. I've also got a genuine Ford VCM II, which is a wired connection, and it works fine too.

I control my pump. I have to look into how I did it, but I do recall it is a pain in the ass and not intuitive.

Does the car have a tune on it?
No, not at all… all stock. I also think it's the cable. I will try another one.@tomster can you please show us what cable you use?
Thanks

I’d be interested in hearing the details...

I've got a bunch of work to do today. So I'll get to it later on.
