In the market for a 2020 PP2- is production over?

sorry, man what universe are you living in? It's been a truism to never buy a Monday or a Friday car from a Detroit automaker. Their workmanship routinely went to hell after a 2 day break, what do you think the results will be of a 4 month shutdown? Even a 2 week break often requires a fairly rigorous 'retraining' to get back into the flow of things.

Now having siad htat, I hope to god you get the best-built car to come out of the factory.
Shogun,

You make good points; I too have heard "never buy a car made on a Monday or Friday." I realize, as I said in my post, that Flat Rock has historically had some less than world class assembly and quality control issues at the 'Stangs Flat Rock Plant before the COVID-19 pandemic. I am hopeful that the workers will, as you said, get back into the "flow of things" quickly in order to enable them to assemble cars that will not suffer from poor craftsmanship and a multitude of issues/problems.

Mine is a Thursday car, a shining example of automotive perfection. They were feeling so good at the factory, they slipped my car a few extra horsepower. All the parts they used came from the "good bin", which is against Ford's normal policy of "everybody gets one". 93 octane gas gets converted to race fuel by the fuel pump. Tires wear at half the normal rate. Other nearby Mustangs bow slightly in deference to their superior. So yeah, build day matters.

Okay...really? Please don’t claim an overplayed myth a truism. The is zero evidence supporting anything you just said and a part of the problem.
I just have 0 faith in the quality of the average American worker. I worked in a place that supplied parts to all the huge OEM's. We had a LOT of people that just didn't give a shit and were there for a paycheck, The American OEM's had looser tolerances than any of the Japanese or German makers. Get what makers got the lowest quality parts? Dodge GM and Ford. All the higher quality went to other makers. We also had more reruns due to the German makers not finding our American Made product not up to snuff and wanting tighter tolerances or similar part colors more than the American makers.

I mean hell how was a Bullitt able to leave the factory with almost 1/2 of a doorjam/sill unpainted?
I have 2 paint problems on my car, and a small leather mark on a seat. Not big enough for me to care about but should have been easily noticed by someone even giving a pacing glance in QC

That's a great thought. A PP2 with a Tremec. Oh wait, Ford is going to make that and call it a Mach 1. :like::)

I have 2 350Rs so I’m not super excited about the mt82. What’s a trans swap run on these cars?

So I'm thinking a person who currently owns 2 GT350R's probably isn't overly concerned about cost. Why not give consideration to the Mach 1. I know is still a long way off but just wondering.

I’m not a huge fan of it aesthetically. Plus I think it will be $60k. I’m looking for a car I can drive and not worry about. With the R, between the wheels and front spoiler, you really have to plan what roads you will take etc.

The Tremec that comes with the mach1 cant handle over 700 ft-lbs of torque like the Tremec magnum. So when you boost the mach1 you ll break that trans..the Tremec magnum is ready to go no matter what you do.

Hi all, I’m not finding any new PP2s on autotrader etc. is production over for 2020? I’m assuming they won’t be bringing the package back for 2021 with the introduction of the Mach 1.

looking for velocity blue if anyone knows of any. Thank you

Dom
Check Koons Ford in Maryland they usually have a few PP2 in stock
