Painted Stripes on non-CFTP car...

Sorry is this is old news guys, but while getting the oil changed in my GT350 today I noticed a GT500 sitting at the dealer (tucked away, covered in dust, not in the showroom, likely waiting for customer to pick up)...

Anyway, it’s a non-CFTP car but it has painted stripes! I didn’t think that combo was possible. I also noticed the sticker says “Special Order” with an MSRP of $89,595.

Oh, how I wish this car was mine. I admire you guys who’ve been able to get this car without paying $10k+ mark ups. I’ve been unsuccessful with various attempts and gave up months ago. However, seeing this car today made me tingle all over...

So of course with time to kill waiting for my GT350, I wandered into the showroom and inquired about that car. The story is that it is for the owner’s son. They said they’d call him and ask if he’s willing to give it up, then get back to me in a few days...

The car was just delivered on 06/17/2020, ordered on 01/11/2020, produced on 02/03/2020 and shipped on 06/02/2020.

A golden ticket is required to get painted stripes, CFTP or both together.

Here is another base with painted stripes.

This one just got in at the dealership where I bought my 2017 Mustang GT.

It is the first 2020 GT500 I have seen in person.

MSRP is $87,xxx plus $20,000 ADM
I am sure you can get the ADM knocked down some but they are not going to sell it for MSRP right now.

thanks for clarifying... I understand now why so many of the painted stripe cars are also CFTP. If you’re lucky enough to have a golden ticket and you’re sitting down to order your car, you’re probably going to check the CFTP box first! I don’t imagine too many people “waist” their golden ticket on just painted stripes.

don’t get me wrong... this car is perfect for me! Since I daily drive my GT350 I’d do likewise with the GT500, so my ideal spec would be a base car with painted stripes! I just didn’t know that was even possible (hence why I posted what I thought was a unicorn). Also this car has no Recaro seats, just like my GT350. I love the base seats!!

Edit: I do wish it had a painted roof though. Oh well, beggars can’t be choosers!

I have one on order just like this one only with a painted black roof (waiting to go to Penske). I would have liked to have ordered the carbon fiber track pack but at 6'2" and 275# I would not fit in the Recaro seats.

The base price is the same as it was in the beginning, it has not changed. The $2600 is the gas guzzler tax and is included in the Total Options/Other price. The base price is usually stated as base plus gas guzzler tax.

Then why in the paragraph it says it excludes the gas guzzler tax? Not that I care it was just an observation I noticed.
