After months of waiting, team Steeda finally was able to get back to what we have been doing best for over thirty years, racing! Over the years, we have stacked up amazingly against stiff competition throughout the entire automotive industry, whether from the European, American, or Japanese markets. Yet again, we were able to showcase our abilities while at Sebring International Race this past weekend on June sixth and seventh. For several years, we have made our number twenty S550 Steeda Mustang race car one of the most formidable throughout the SCCA spectrum; this past weekend was no different.

Our race at Sebring consisted of running in the SARRC challenge within the SCCA realm, competing against purpose-built cars such as Corvettes, Mazda RX-7, Mustangs, Camaros, and Stock Cars. All of these race cars put up a formidable fight against our racehorse, and we loved every second of the competition.

Below you will find our complete overview of what happened over the weekend. Including the results on how we did, stay tuned to see if we finished on the podium!

Checkered Flag Here We Come!

Heading into the race weekend at Sebring International Raceway, everyone amongst the team was excited to get back to our favorite pastime. Beforehand, we knew that it would be likely we would face some severe weather conditions that could inhibit our initial plans headed into the race. Staying true to our core values, we pushed on through to ensure we accomplished what we set out to do, taking home the checkered flag and first place.

Through torrential rain and humidity, Steeda President Dario Orlando continued to battle the conditions and use his phenomenal driving skills to fight off the competition, including a purpose-built C5 ZO6 Corvette for well over three laps to maintain points advantage over the class leaders. Throughout the entirety of this door-to-door racing, you could immediately tell how our technology, racing experience, and engineering was coming into play amongst the competition. Paying close attention, we as a team could tell once our Mustang was in a groove, it was pulling ahead of this particular Corvette and all of its competitors among our race class.

Finally, when it all came down to the last two sessions on Sunday, we were laser-focused on bringing home the trophy and lead the points in the race season heading into Homestead-Miami speedway at the end of June. Check out the full race weekend update from the man himself, including race results, how the car faired over the competition, and what we do to take these lessons to implement them into our performance parts!
