So going from a vortech to a Whipple is not considered an upgrade?

What is an upgrade by definition?
Exactly what 80 said is what I was gonna say.

More capable sure, when pullied way down. If you take off a $6000 Vortech kit and put on an $8000-8500 or more Whipple kit at the average power most guys make in this group, around 800, and you end up making 15-20 more. I wouldn’t even consider that an upgrade. Blowers are blowers, most will make fairly close in power given both at 12psi, or 13, or 14. There were easier ways to make those 15whp extra, you just chose the most expensive manner.

Paxton is saving you money . You don’t have that whipple initial torque but you you’ll have money in your pocket for more things down the road

OP, Listen to Stymee! He’ll get you straight!.

I’m well satisfied with my procharger just like the vortech because they’re both centri. You’re not toasting your tires as soon you go wot and it seems I can control it compared to my nitrous car before. At least in my experience, once my centri picks up, it goes like a mother and my needle doesn’t dropped to lower rpms lol. I don’t think you race with lower rpms anyways.. this is just my experience with my centri blower.

Any of you guys know at what horsepower will I need clutches for a 10R80 Whipple car
Do a hardened intermediate shaft also while you have the transmission open. That should see you out to the 1000whp range.

Sometimes its not about making power but longevity. a paxton/vortech self lubed will be maxed rpm speed a 52k and it will start giving you problems. and that's only at average power. i agree, the cheapest kits can make the same power as the expensive kits regardless of what charger/kit it is because boost is boost. but when it comes down to capabilities, longevity, and reliability, there is a difference.

Sorry you feel like you picked an inferior blower. RPM is one of the things I considered when picking Procharger, I understood this wasn’t an LS1 or 4.6 that revs to 6500. So I picked a blower that had to ability to rev higher. My P1sc was good for 21000 miles of beatings. I maintained it accordingly and it’s now in another vehicle.

You cant go wrong with any kit on a coyote, i always say that. I am a centri fan as most know, and as good a deal as these kits are, with the a10, they have just gotten better.

the shift points are money on these things. you shift from peak hp to peak torque and the power band is just perfect.

stock pulley is good for 675 with cats, 700 no cats, and 800 on e85.

you can always ring me with any questions on any of the setups,

As far as "upgrades" , going from one brand, to another i wouldn't consider an "upgrade"

we do vortechs and paxtons, we had a whipple truck and a hellion car, all in the last year.

we play with them all.

our 18 was the quickest supercharged 10r80 car until about a month ago, and the only reason it is now is we simply haven't made it out,

next trip out with good prep i expect us to be the top dog again.
