I asked MGW about adding a 2 pound shift knob and they don't recommend it.

George told me that as well. He went on to say that it is basically similar to resting your hand on the shifter while driving, puts added wear on trans internals.

I won’t question what he said. Considering how hard a shifter can be thrown it’s hard to imagine for me the shift knob is an issue. I get the weighted angle and concern. Tremec makes an outstanding transmission and I’m sure they factored in the abuse in these cars in the design. Some don’t know how to not abuse there equipment.

Just a heads up I would check their clearance section. They have several options for almost half off from customer returns, minor blemishes or knobs they used for advertisement. Another way to go is eBay. I scored a brand new knob from a BMW owner (fortunately with the same shift pattern) and all you would need is the GT350 adapter. Best of all no wait time.

I have a Raceseng Slammer. Helped my MGW shifter with smoother downshifts. Loved the feel of MGW shifter by itself but adding the shift knob made it even better!

Love it. R lock was buzzing at first, ultimately because the o-ring on the shifter was damaged. After some work found a replacement O ring and insulated the reverse shift spring. I'm an expert installer now!
