Guessing it's normal, but wanted to check with others. My kit has about 600 miles on it. The belt is adjusted as instructed. I don't believe it is too tight or too loose.
After I drive the car for a few miles, not even hard, and pull it into my garage, I can smell hot rubber. It's the belt. I used a infrared thermometer and it's around 175 degrees. The belts on my other cars are only around 120 to 130 degrees.
Can someone else actually measure their pulley temp after a normal drive? If it's fine, it's fine. Just want to make sure. Thanks!

I installed my Whipple stage 2 kit about two weeks ago. I probably have 250 or so miles on it. I'm using a 4" pulley and the 103.3" belt. Anyway after a normal drive without getting into boost, I was checking my bypass valve and accidentally put my forearm on the supercharger pulley and it was freaking hot. No way I could touch it for more than a split second. All the pulleys seemed hot. I don't have a temp gun, but I could believe it to be 170 degrees.

Normal temps usually are around 120-170°F. @ 140°, you can usually touch a surface for Only 1 second before pulling away.
