So I’ve decided on Kona blue. But for the life of me I keep going back and forth on whether or not to get the white racing stripe. $500 seems like a lot for a sticker. How well do the stripes hold up? I feel like it makes the car look more distinctive but I’m having trouble deciding.

Stripes are defiantly a matter of personal preference. Personally on Mustang's I like them. I was happy my car came with them and they're holding up just fine. Ford oem stripes shouldn't be more than $375. Are you thinking of getting after market?

I added them. Self installed. I didn't do the roof, because I have a black roof.

BigWorm all the way - only cost me 200.00 for the install. You can always remove them later - just make sure you car lives in the garage. I tried to install myself - no way - once you hit a curve and the stripe starts to go sideways - you freak. Have a pro do it.

Also - it is not something you need to decide right away - give it some months - took me a long time - but in the end - I did it and absolutely love them.

I feel strongly both ways........... No wait a minute, that's the response I give to the wife to avoid an argument, but keep my dignity.

Stripes I say......!!!!!!!!
LOL, I'll remember that one. Was told years ago by an older and wiser man to just say "Yes dear" so thats been my go to.

Stripes? Like em when i see them but its not for me. Its an insanely personal choice but that Kona is beautiful either way

You'll always have the last word if you just reply with those two words, "Yes Dear".

My answer on stripes has always been "It depends".

I've preferred my vehicles without them. Till I saw Velocity Blue with white stripes, I bought it.

Kona Blue with White stripes. The stripes Pop and grab your attention

I would get stripes. You might want to think about aftermarket. I had mine painted on but aftermarket vinyl has some advantages over the factory.

A LOT more color choices.

More style options.

No gaps; I don't know if its robots or people, but the factory saves time/costs by not having the stripes go to the ends of panels. The stripes end before the edges leaving a gap. Aftermarket installers or DIY can take the few extra minutes to cut the film at the edges or wrap it around.

Cast vinyl. The better aftermarket vinyl is cast. The color is more than skin deep. Ford prints the color on top of a substrate. That lets them create any color they want instead of selecting colors made by the cast vinyl makers. Nice if you want a proprietary Ford stripe color but not otherwise. If you do research, the consensus is that the best cast vinyl is superior for longevity.

I might be biased, but stripes truly turn these cars into neck breakers on the right color :beer:
