@ your meme....Haha... no, it's when they install the R wing, splitter, and then install the red R badge stickers.....

Mulligan had a class 350 with the R wing and splitter, but he didnt install the badges.
Yeah the badges make all the difference. Oddly enough, it's the howler badges that annoy me the most.

Yes! go see if the wing will fit the OEM drill holes. With confirmation, I'd be in for a couple.
It will fit OEM drill holes, the truck in the pics is off of my R with factory holes, the dog bones were copied from mine also.
The factory wang is right around 11 lbs

And this is my plan as well. But we do know there are some purist and some haters out there, but hey, that’s OK too. But yea, I am in no way trying to pretend I have an R. But I’m also sure as heck not going to swap the badges to pass off as one either. IMO, one of many items Ford nailed on these cars is the spoiler/splitter designs; the aftermarket can't even touch it! Some of the Archetype Racing splitters hitting the streets are pretty sick, but I wonder if they're toooo big for my taste. I know they're too big for my driveway. And for the price, I'd be just has happy trying to find a clean, used R splitter.

IMHO, having a non R with all that stuff means you are a real enthusiast. So I think it's great what you are doing. Slap a red badge on it, and I see one at a show, I'm going to bring it up.

It’s here! Great quality. Great fit and finish. I cannot find any flaws in the weave or the finish. The dogbones fit the contour of the inside of the trunk lid perfectly. It’ll be a while before I get this project done as I’m going to take the trunk lid and get the holes filled and painted; do it right.

No template was included for mounting or anything, but that should be fairly simple to devise. Looks like two holes on each end will have to be drilled, and then there’s a long stud that reuses the stock spoiler hole (sorry — this is going on a non R car).

The only thing of interest, and it caught me off guard, is the wing is not one piece. The legs (for lack of a better term) or the horizontal sections that actually sit on the trunk, are separate pieces assembled to the body of the wing. You can see what I’m describing in the pics. You can’t tell it from the sides, but you can see it if looking straight on from the rear.

what makes this interesting, is that looking at pics of their S550 “R” wing (the predecessor non-exact replica to this one), looks like it is one piece. Ohh well!

It’s on! Fits pretty darn good. I’m happy with it. It is odd that Anderson did the visible three piece design, but oh well. Once on, it’s not an eye sore and honestly, it doesn’t even catch your eye. Quite satisfied, especially at 1/3 the price of the next best option.

I have studied and looked at R wings throughout this process, and to the absolute extent that I can tell, this is a spot on R replica. There are other “R” wings out there, and even Anderson has one, but once you know what to look for, you can’t unsee it. Those R wings that are not exact, stick out. Glad I didn’t go that route.

The infamous dog bones that come
with this fit perfect. I don’t know if they’re sourced from Ford or if Anderson reproduces them, but they too are spot on, and key for this installation.

Yes, it’s steady as a rock driving, but man, having a rear view mirror full of just that wing will take a little getting used to, LOL. Oh well, 1st world problems, right?

Anywho, without further ado...

The factory R wing is 3 pcs, you just can't tell after it's painted.
The dog bones were 3D scanned and copied off of my 2017 R

:like: Looks good. Filling the holes is the only way to go nicely done.

Have to say that looks really nice. Great job, and to AndersonComps for making a great product.

Are you saying that they fill over the screws and finish smooth and paint? I took some photos of one of my R wings. It appears to be one piece.

The ONLY way to go. No other way was an option!

Tom, @Mach4.6 is correct. I learned this as well on my journey. The foots on the stock wing are separate pieces then bonded together. Some may argue that’s the reason it’s painted; would look like crap at the joints otherwise.

@galaxy Do you have a pic of that middle strut? Would be interesting to see.
Sorry man, don’t know what you mean by middle strut. Let me know and I’ll get pics for ya.

The wing fits great on that white/blue stripe car. But what happens with the holes on the center of the trunk?
