IPS Motorsports in Lewis Center / Polaris area. They've done a couple of superchargers for me in the past on my C6 and C7 corvettes and have an inhouse dyno. And well, they put the drop springs on my Mustang so they're familiar.
Didn't realize they had an in-house dyno. Have to check them out.

Hi fellow gear heads,

I know this is a really old thread that I am resurrecting, but I actually just saw it today.
So I thought I would add to it and maybe help someone that is on the fence to make their decision a little easier.
I have a daily driven 2017 Mustang GT Premuim with a 6 speed manual.
I chose the Procharger P1X Stage 2 kit with the quiet gears and I love it.
The standard, straight cut gears are fine for a race car, but they tend to sound like a box of marbles on a quiet street car with full exhaust.
You still get the intoxicating Procharger whine with the quiet gears, but without the marbles.
Also, if you decide to get a Procharger for your daily driver, it would behoove you to pay the extra $100 for the P1X. Great upgrade and worth every penny.
The P1X is more efficient, makes a ton of power and the midrange is unbelievable.
A little history.
My car was brand new when I purchased it in September of 2017. I ordered the Procharger kit the day I got the car home.
I wanted something simple to install and this kit is absolutely amazing engineering wise. Simple and straight forward.
No wires to cut and splice or anything like that. No cutting of ANYTHING.
I decided on the Procharger Stage 2 kit because I liked the look, simplicity, sound, power that increases with RPM and the Super cool looking intercooler behind the grill.
Plus, l really like the look of the factory intake and intake cover and didn’t want to lose that.
Whipple was also one that I considered but I wanted a dedicated belt for reliability on the highway.
I drive 800 to 1000 miles per week, almost all highway, so reliability was a huge factor.
Whipple does offer an optional dedicated belt kit, but the Procharger was just a little less complicated.
I wanted a kit that would also be easy to remove and return to stock if I decided to sell my car.
After researching everything, I decided that I wanted a kit that would run a little cooler in traffic as well.
Sometimes I end up in bumper to bumper traffic for hours in 95 degree heat.
When I ordered my kit, I went with a polished head unit and it looks beautiful.
I wanted satin black brackets, but I didn’t like the textured black that Procharger uses.
So I ordered my kit with a polished head unit and standard brackets.
Then I had my friend powdercoat the brackets in a nice satin black. Looks fantastic and clean.
Anyway, the Procharger has been a fantastic, reliable and fun modification.
Zero issues.
All of the supercharger kits are great, so you can’t choose a bad one.
Just buy what you like and enjoy the heck out of it.
I did disassemble the front of my engine during the installation to install MMR billet oil pump gears. That was pretty easy as well.
I only did that for reliability.

I hope this helps.

Actually, thanks for the bump. I'm literally debating Whipple vs Procharger. I've seen this thread before but it's a good re-read. Nice write up, glad you love your P1X.

I was recently debating both as well. Was just about to pull the trigger on a PC when I came across a YT vid of a ProCharged owner going for a ride in a Whippled car. Fast forward to 7:30 where he is giggling like a little girl:

Both kits are performers, and both have pros and cons. But after seeing the reactions of these guys (Whipple guy drove the PC car as well) I pulled the trigger on the system that appealed more to me...the Gen 5 Whipple.

Congratulations Ego. The Gen 5 Whipple is a beautiful new kit.

You can’t find anything with P1X vs Whipple Gen 5 Gen 2s. That’s what I need to know more about . Procharger has a better price point but does it lose to whipple every time ?

Both will make roughly the same power p1x vs gen 5 stg 2. The amount of usable power you get out of either setup depends on supporting mods (fuel system, suspension, wheels and tires, etc) It mostly comes down to how you want the car to drive. Do you like the characteristics of a turbo car where you can putt around like a perfectly oem n/a car or you can build boost and fly like a damn rocket. Alternatively the whipple is always on, its like a little devil sitting on your shoulder always nagging you to hit the gas, it still has street manners like oem but you can tell it wants you to let it loose.

Both are very capable. But like mentioned both deliver power slightly different. When modded fairly identical you can’t say one will be the other every time. Most races even when back to back between 2 close cars hardly yield the same results.
