Thanks. I was considering 911 when was on the market for a new car. The options I choose for the car bump the price $135K + tax. My 2019 GT350 price was $65K + tax. That makes Porsche $79K more. Not to mention, I purchase my 2019 GT350 with considerable large discount. Having said that, IMO Porsche prices are overblown due to collectability of the brand which driving prices for new Porsche models higher.
How can you get to $135K for a Carrera 911? You are talking 2020 Porsche 911S numbers.

My 2020 Porsche 911 is $97,400 base. I added $830 for the color, $2000 for the sun roof, the Bose stereo was $1600 (it is much better than before), the seat warming//cooling is $840, and other stuff. My MRSP was $105,910 shipped into Jacksonville,FL and then to me.

I got the normal discount for a repeat customer.

My GT350 as ordered was $61.5K. The discount got it below $60K.

That was my $40K number. If you pay more, it is your decision to do so.

Here is the quote for 911 with the options that I want. 911S is $10K more. And yes, it's crazy.

You are crazy.

The 2020 Porsche Carrera is fast at $100K and not any faster at $132K.

I was going to take my 2019 GT350 to Amelia Island 3 weeks ago before the 2020 911 Carrera arrived before the scheduled date. I drove the Porsche to the last car event before the world stopped.

^ Re: Porsche vs. F350- here's a nice review from a Porsche 911 GTS owner:
I think you meant to say 2019 Porsche 911 991.2 GTS vs. 2019 Ford Mustang GT350 (F-350 is a truck)?

I have the new 2020 Porsche 911 (the 992--no GTS yet) as well as the upgraded 2019 Mustang Shelby GT350 in my garage.

The new Porsche is a great car which now has the Turbo rear fenders as standard. It's a great street car. It's also expensive. The GT350 is really a race car that is street legal. It has a bargain price.

Nice, cars! Yeah I fixed it- I do own an F350 so maybe brain freeze!

I also own a 991.2 GT3 and I can't get my head around the differences. It's like comparing James Joyce to Walt Whitman if that makes any sense! They are both great cars but are so different.

My initial impressions which will change as I get more used to the GT350:

- The GT350R is a much bigger car, the GT3 is smaller and more maneuverable in tight spaces like my driveway
- The GT350R is much quieter and a better touring car
- The GT3 motor is smoother and has more torque at low RPM (for the weight they both push around)- top end is a rush with both
- Little less feedback on cornering grip and steering with the GT350

I could go on, but really not fair to criticize one over the other, they have their use and purpose for me and I'm blessed to own both. The GT3 is my fun sports car is just for that- fun drives and never disappoints. The GT350R is my everyday car. I've had several in the last few years and what I want is a fun car, yet practical for my use. The GT350R with a useable trunk, higher seating position and quieter interior is hopefully going to fill that role. My last everyday car was a Chevy SS- which has plenty of performance, but the styling and interior left me cold (didn't help I bought a white one). I also found the forums that support that car to be full of rude and prude folks that were scared of their own shadow, which after several forum attacks helped to destroy the user experience for me.

So, here's to the GT350R- so far she's been a little trying (engine failure and all that), but is starting to win my heart. Oh, and you good folks on this forum are doing your part to make me like her too- thanks!

You forgot to mention that the Porsche 991.2 GT3 is the last car in that model. It is $180,000 if someone can get one? They told me to get screwed when I ordered one. It's a cult car.

The 2019 Ford GT350R is good but at a fraction of the price. You paid like $70K? As for bang for the buck, the GT350 wins in all categories.

Hahaha, yes 74K less one engine, 8 year 125K warranty, $1500 in reimbursed expenses and a 60K maintenance package- is that 70K? Close enough, LOL.

Anyways, for me this isn't a competition, I'm just pointing out how they compare. I do own both concurrently and presently. I bought the GT350R and I'm not selling the GT3. Again they take different positions in my driving lineup as I explained above.

So, we can call the Porsche GT3 a $74,000 premium to a GT350? That is big money in this new coming rescission.

I drove my 2019 Shelby GT350 in the mountains today. The roads were clear. I was amassed at the lack of any traffic. I am going back tomorrow or the next day (before the wet conditions).

Yes, Really Caballus! Have you paid attention to the fact that the FPC engine is discontinued? If you keep your car long enough you’ll either need to rebuild the FPC engine or replace it. The GT350 is an awesome car, I own one too. I ventured into swapping my engine for a CPC race engine so that I could have a lot of reliable fun running track days. The rotating assembly is fully forged, including the OPGs. Yes, the OPGs are powdered metal in the FPC engine. Looking forward to many hours on the track in the future.
Change OPGs and go.

Wow,
Many things have changed since the last post here.

It seems that new cars/trucks are very rare due to the chip shortage?

I got an offer for my car over what I paid. It's not for sale. I am not selling since I really like the car:
