Never noticed any issues but went ahead and looked. Sure enough, the passenger side is flush and flawless but the driver side has the slightest gap. Not enough to be super noticeable or bother me but if the fix is as easy as loosening the bolt then I may see if I can get the other one flush.

Same on mine - had my dealer adjust. I’ve often wondered about gaps and such. When I watch all those factory videos there are like 15 people on the finishing line measuring all parts of the car. Wonder if they were on break when mine went through.

Luckily my car ( 2019 ) only suffers the one car on the passenger side front fender which has been corrected as of today. I've seen some pretty bad ones online but seems I got a pretty good one.

I adjusted mine the 2nd day I had it. You can close the gap by loosening the upper fender bolts, push the fender inward and hold it while you tighten it up. Use some tape inside the socket to prevent chipping the paint on the bolt head. Once you tighten it down, make sure you watch the gap as you slowly lower the hood to check the clearance.
^^^^^^^^
This right here exactly. I had to do the same thing to a friends that had a very similar gap. It's a two minute fix.

The alignment hole is just behind the bolt.

And don't forget the famous rear bumper droop :giggle:

I losened this bolt maybe 1/8th inch and simply pushed the fender in and retightened the bolt down. This gap was over 1/4inch before and now it's identical to the other side of the hood....perfect
Yes, did the same on my '16, the tips of the fender on the driver's side had a good 1/4" or more gap vs. the passenger side. It's just that one fastener - and what I noted on mine: there's an alignment hole on the frame and one on the fender tab, if the two were perfectly lined up, it resulted in the gap. It's my understanding a rod is used to align the panels, but the alignment reference is way off! When I pushed the tip of the fender in, snugged it back up, it was pretty perfect, but the alignment holes were way off (of course, that doesn't really matter).

Easy DIY fix.

These cars are anywhere from $30,000.00 to almost $50,000.00 just for a GT. You would think by now the assembly and gap aligning would be almost perfect. FORD these cars are not the $1995.00 Pintos

Don't confuse normal with common. This is a common issue, but shouldn't be normal on the car. That gap is too large. The gap on my GT Premium on both sides is much, much smaller than yours (in fact on the passenger side it's about 1 mm smaller than it should be). Sounds like you'll be able to fix it yourself pretty easily. I would do that, rather than entrust it to a careless dealer.

Unfortunately this is a symptom of a lot of massively produced cars at the cheaper price. I've had gaps in all my cars and bumper mounting brackets break often.

Yeah, I have some similar issues with my GT premium. Not really body gap issues but actually some paint flaws. One is a chip but that can be touched up and expected to happen in the future. Then there seems to be a gouge in the plastic which really stands out a bit, however I don’t want to pursue fixing it as it might seem to cause more issues than what it’s worth. Just debating enjoying the car and it is what it is...
