Nothing on the 2021 GT500. The 350 is out, the Mach I is in, but no discussion on the 500. I am of the thought it will be queued up for 2021, as a one year run makes no financial sense, but then there is the Covid factor to also consider.
Lots of moving parts. I will predict (assume) that the 2020 production #'s will fall well short of plan.
As mentioned in a previous post, performance divisions dont make any financial sense. However, despite the lack of information, I agree that there will be a '21MY. Just a hunch....

As long as they have enough GT500 specific parts to hang on the next mustang on the line they'll keep cranking them out.

I'm sure that's correct, Alan, but these days, companies maintain minimal inventories and rely on suppliers to continually refill them. If those people aren't working though, it probably won't happen that way.

I heard a rumor a while ago that 2020 will be the only year the current gen GT500 is made. Guess we'll find out soon enough if that was accurate.

Oh well, we're just going to have to listen to everybody whine until the pacifier factory gets going again.

My biggest gripe will be if they push the existing orders already in to possibly 2021 and they change the front end look. Because just because they made the 2020 GT 500 look like the '15-'17 doesn't mean the 2021 will look like that too. That would highly make me give up my build. But as most have said, most is unknown at the moment.

Good points so far and here's a question as well. Do the 2020 models have a more sought after value long term say they only make 2000 units or less? I feel possible but not radical value difference should it be a very low production year.
Sounds like it would be like 2015 GT350 value

That would make no sense IMO. ADMs would be 50k otherwise.

Of course, that assumes that the stores know there won't be any more of them. At this point, I don't know how anyone, including Ford, could know the answer.

I’m pretty sure by now Ford knows if they are planning to have a 2021.

Do you really think that after all of the initial time, effort and exorbitant cost that the many Ford engineers put in with respect to R&D for the engine, transmission, coolers, body style, suspension, brakes, etc. that this second generation GT500 was predicated on a 1 year production run?

When Ford launched and completed final assembly of the second generation GT500's with the last MY being the 2014 MY the total production numbers came in at ~47,000 vehicles over an 8 year production run with myself owning 3 of these second generation GT500's.

We now have someone suggesting that Ford just built the Fastest, Best Handling & Best Braking Mustang Of All Time namely the 2020 GT500 and it is going to only be a 1 year run with just some ~2000 and ~4000 cars built in total?

Whoever came up with the rumor that the 3rd generation GT500's are only going to be a 1 production year run best recheck their source of information and personally find that scenario quite hilarious.

Multiple years (at least 2) is my guess. What the total 350 build of this generation? With GT350's being produced from 2015-2020 that's the number we might que on. The GT350 has built the momentum (accolades) for the GT500 so demand is high and the car is delivering the goods on the street and track. I'll get mine in time. JP
