Anyone have an 88mm overbore on either the 2.3 block or 2.0 block? I picked up a fusion 2.0l block with rotating assembly, flywheel and torque converter for super cheap but it has a small defect on the top of cylinder 3. The car was mangled and I think we damaged it when ripping it from the car.

This is my brother ripping it from the car. The front end was smashed in. The engine was untouched.

I think honing and resurfacing will do the trick, but I’m interested to see what the results for 88mm are anyway.

I’ll probably start a build thread soon. I’m gathering parts and off work until Mayish soooo stay tuned.

That damage won't affect the block or rotating assembly. Just debur it and call it a day. Curious to hear about an overbore, though.

Eh, some people have ran them but that's about the max of what you'd want to take out of the factory sleeve for overboring. I don't know that I'd do it if I was wanting to make big power but you'd probably be okay on lower power levels.

Also, FWIW, Manley makes a 87.6 mm piston as well. If it was my engine, I'd probably take my chances with the 87.6 mm pistons and resurface the deck just enough to clean up that damage to help keep as much of the integrity of the sleeves as I could.

One of the cylinders needed some extra love so I went with 88mm. Looks pretty good. I still have to pick up internals at some point.

It looks like the Esslinger kit would work well here.

They have nothing listed on their website for 2.3l ecoboost internals. I’m watching a few diffeeent websites for sales and price drops.
