I love this idea.

Also, where did you get those tweeter covers?

Finally did this today. Picked up an extra a-pillar so if its ever needed/wanted in the future I have one that doesn't have a hole in it. Did as OP suggested and didn't use the spacer.

Small adjustment to do before really locking it down but here it is. Big thanks to @Racemaster for the innovation!

@Racemaster and @rum_punch_ruby

It looks like both of you mounted it so that the weight of the gauge is resting on the dash. Do you think this is best to prevent any deformation to the A pillar trim?

@Racemaster When you mentioned you wished you had mounted it higher, did you mean higher towards the windshield or towards the tweeter?

Love the idea and strongly considering ordering the parts to do the same!

mine isn't resting on the dash, just poor lighting. will get a better pic on wednesday. i made sure there was enough clearance to get the microSD card in/out with no fuss.

So question. Is there enough space in between the pillar and dash for the cable to run through? It looked like it would get pinched.

Is there a place to run it down the side to the OBD port?

Thanks

Yes. From the OBD port, over to the kick panel, then run it behind the black trim on the side of the dash by going behind the edge of it that is behind the weatherstrip. From the top of this trim piece there is enough give in the padded dash to fit it between the dash and the A pillar trim so you can exit at the top of the dash pad where you want it.

Hope this helps!

Sorry for the delay in getting this pic but here is a shot with measurement from the dash.
Looks good!

I assume you fab'd it up to determine where on the A pillar the post would be mounted? Post and A pillar dont seem to have any trouble supporting the weight? How difficult is it to secure that ball and socket to get the angle you want for the gauge?

So got it done today. Was little nervous on where exactly to drill the hole.
But came out good. Wish I maybe would have drilled a little higher to be able to adjust it more towards me.

Still a little nervous with how the tight the wire is but seems to be ok

Ah I see. My cable is flat so it makes it that much easier...

ohh. Yeah a flat cable would be nice. This ones kinda thick. I think when I install some tweeters, I'm going to make a little notch to give it some space.
