I researched this question a little while back. I called Anderson and spoke to a tech there. You would probably be ok with an R wing, especially if you are not max loading the wing (which probably occurs at max speed). The high profile GT4 wing (GT500, FP350S), will crack or damage the lid. It was suggested that it could be accomplished by fabricating plates to spread out the forces created by the wing. Next time I am at a Daytona track event, I will check out what the pro racers do to accomplish this.I wonder if you can run the stock R spoiler on this and not crack it
Looks good, what areas do you think dont fit as nice as stock?Spring has arrived here in WI and time to install some upgrades. I was worried on how the emblem would transfer but it was very easy. Some 3m double sided tape. The Anderson one does not seem to fit as nice as stock. However it will be fine. Did a 4 hour detail on the car...then on to the install. I like the way it turned out. Now I need the tail light covers for the complete look.
The clips that attach on top from the factory really hold the stock on in place. I feel the Anderson ones are just holders, not really clips, they more guide it to fit.Looks good, what areas do you think dont fit as nice as stock?
Does the tail light bezel line up with the deck lid or does it stick out a little?I have it, but I installed it onto AC carbon fiber trunk also. Tabs lined up and fitment is pretty good. I didn't use the OEM emblem, mines still have the SpaceCitySpy howler badge taped on it. As for dust and cleaning, it attracts tons of it. I had mines wrapped in Xpel Ultimate film and every drive, it will collect dirt.
I've been racing my R for 2+ years with the Anderson trunk lid without any problems or cracking.I wonder if you can run the stock R spoiler on this and not crack it
Good question, they do line up, but not perfectly. It is very slight and hardly noticeable, but ONLY because I have a carbon fiber overlay on the tail lights. The overlay is about 1/8" thick, so it does appear to help with lining up with the deck lid. I will be changing my tail lights to the 2018 euro look soon (waiting on shipping, which will probably be a week) and will swap my current setup out. Will really see how much the deck lid will stick out after install since I will not be coving the euro lights with any overlay. Hopefully I will remember to post a picture here to help others see the difference.Does the tail light bezel line up with the deck lid or does it stick out a little?
The current carbon fiber bezels are stuck on there good and I don't want to try and remove them lol. The other reason is that I don't think anyone make a carbon fiber bezel for the 2018 tail lights yet because they are in a "C" shape rather than straight bars. Why won’t you be puttinga bezel on the new ones?
