it might have been a different story if it were at MSRP but all I was seeing was 20-30K above sticker even for a base. It is fun driving a manual though and being engaged.
As opposed to being numb with a DCT?

I've been rowing my own gears for a long time. I welcome the DCT and all the performance enhancements that it will bring.

It was supposed to be a 3 yr run. It was so successful that they kept it going.

Out with the old and in with the new. Not only do we have the 500, but there is more coming with only so much room on the production line.
Valid point. I'm more sad that an N/A flat crank V8 is going away (I heard one once and it's permanently lodged in my memory), even if it had a rep for blowing up.

The optimist in me would've liked to see Voodoo mated to a DCT, even though that'd require all sorts of re-engineering.

I like the DCT a lot. The performance aspect is amazing. But I always say there will always be someone faster than you, so why not enjoy the car. I enjoy driving a manual for a 3rd car. Have automatics in the other 2. So it’s a nice change of pace.

I do enjoy my Rs. And I will enjoy the CFTP 500 probably even more. The Ford development driver for the GT, 350, and 500 told me that as we drove around the Daytona speedway in one of my Rs. His exact words were that the CFTP500 is exponentially better.

You are right. There is always somebody faster than you. I'm fast. He's faster.

When I was on the market for new car(6 month ago), I had an option to purchase GT500 for MSRP. The reason I wasn't interested on GT500 because it's not engaging as GT350. To me driving cars with AT, no matter how good it is is like sitting on the couch, boring. What should I do with my left foot?

I guess if you can only have one, then you have to vote with your feet, or foot.... or left foot to be exact.

At least you can still get a Mustang GT with a manual. All Corvettes are auto now. If I didn't have back surgery, I would've kept my 2018 GS Manual. Just couldn't get in and out anymore.

of course that 500 cftp is amazing. The ADMs on those are crazy too! Like I said it maybe a different story if before I got the 20R on a huge discount if they had a 500 at MSRP I maybe would have gotten that. My wife learned to drive manual so it’s sort of our special thing.

As a 2019 owner with the very latest updates, I'm not upset about the model ending production. I am intrigued as to what the 2021 Mach 1 will be though.

Probably just a reworked Bullit with some tweaks and different badging

I hope that the Mach 1 will be more than that. With Chevy upgrading the 1LE with an A10 for 2021 Ford will no longer have a N/A answer.

I hope the exponent is greater than 1 :)

Joking aside it'd better be faster. We should not dismiss the element of the new that people love as well as fact that it needs to look good and get sold.
