It all depends on how much weight you remove from the car.

One thing know one seems to mention is the roll out at the track.I have seen quick 60fts due to tracks roll out is larger than others.Just keep that in mind when comparing.

Sorry, new to drag racing with an Auto. What does "Flash the Converter" mean? Also, are people installing transbrakes, or are they included in the Perf Pack cars? I assume the former.

That is hard one on mine. On the street just floor boarding it sends it spinning up through the top of third gear real quick. It takes a very controlled linear throttle with a slight pause at the 1-2 shift or it is up in smoke. At the track it is same thing accept for horrible axle hop. I’m actually looking forward to some 85 plus degree temps to help me hook better...

Depends on the surface. The best I can seem to do on a street is like 1.87 with 325 45 17 MH racemaster drag radials and no burnout just torque braking it to like 1900, any higher and it will hop and spin. Drag strip with a burnout I would expect 1.6 or so with my current e85 tune setup with these drag radials.

Flashing the converter is basically the launch style where you just take your foot off the brake and immediately floor the gas, no brake torquing. Transbrakes are tuned in on the a10 cars, you have to ask for it in your tune from PBD or maybe lund, I know for sure PBD does it and I have it, and to activate the Tbrake you have to put your left foot on the brake, pull in both paddles, tap the gas, then let off the brake and left paddle, to launch you give it some throttle then let off the right paddle. Youll also want upgraded axles because if you hook hard youll probably break the stock axles, on the street you will just spin.

82 degree temps out yesterday and found some much needed traction in lower gears. Outside of the shifts the car was hooking much better finally!!! ;).

better tires will help. you don't need drag radials but i notice a lot of guys trying to launch on some crappy all seasons or something like that

They are 275 pilot sport 4s, but yesterday I finally got some hook with 82 degree air temps. That makes a big difference too.

My 14 GT auto always ran faster off idle than any throttle on the brake. Everyone was always saying 1800-2000 rpms on the 18’s. I will have to try that next time.

Same day as this run I only got 1.67/1.68 power braking at 2000rpms. Flashing the converter off idle hits the tires much harder, as long as you have traction to hold it.

Yeah, traction is the key. A few weeks back on the street my car went right up through the top of third gear doing that. lol. Cold street tires. ;).

What mods are in this car? Great times. I’ve always wondered about leaving off idle. Good to know :)

For this pass, it only had PBD E85 tune, JLT, and Ford Performance Extreme catback, drag pack, seats out, good DA. Still had stock headers, cats, and converter. Would if ran 10’s that day if I would have used the transbrake. Oh well.

Now it’s ported Cobra Jet, Kooks catless headers, and nearly complete BMR/Steeda front/rear suspension. If it doesn’t run deep 10’s, I’m selling it. Ha. Waiting for Corona to pass and tracks to open.
