update: i just received the core refund from car id

That's pretty bad ass, I tired that once with rockauto on some vette calipers I was buying for my previous car and I got charged a core.

I scored some Brembo's from the junkyard for $200..
Got a feeling these Brembo's are going to sell out quick.

i should mention that not only did car id give me the core refund, they also sent me a prepaid shipping label as well. the core concept is to promote reuse/recycling so as long as they receive a caliper that is part of that program it actually shouldn't matter to them. the car id website is unclear as to whether it is a new or remanufactured caliper. i called them prior to ordering and confirmed it is a new part. the rockauto part is remanufactured. i do think a remanufactured caliper should be as good as a new one, however, as the caliper itself is just a block of iron and is not something that could wear out.

I seriously want to do this upgrade, just don't know if the new stuff will fit under stock 19" GT/CS wheels. There's only about 1/2 inch clearance between the wheel and the caliper now. OP, how much room did you have with the factory 4 pot calipers?

FWIW, there is no reason not to use remanufactured calipers. The housings don't go bad unless they get so corroded the bores can't be refinished. That doesn't happen with aluminum calipers.

Do you have to upgrade the master cylinder for base EcoBoost?

It’s a good idea to replace the master cylinder with the performance pack version. Vorshlag posted something about this. Also, if you got a manual transmission, you could order the MC for the automatic (no barb for clutch fluid supply) and run a separate clutch reservoir. Knock out two upgrades at once.

I have 19 inch wheels and they fit fine. You will also need a 19 inch spare tire. I Have an extra 1
