Then bid on it. It may be a 1 0f 1 or 2 based on that color combo.

The bases are rare.
Morning Tom!

You are absolutely correct as Ford confirmed in writing that of the 19 Base R's built for the U.S. and 2 cars built for Canada for the 2018 MY and prior to production being discontinued as of April 30th, 2018 this is a 1 of 1 color combination car.

Of the 21 Base R's produced for 2018 there were 5 Shadow Black cars built with 4 SB cars going to the U.S. and 1 SB car going to Canada.

Of the 5 SB cars produced only 1 car was ordered and built as a Shadow Black car with Blue OTT stripes and that was JR157.

Had a great deal of fun selling my wife's 2003 M-B SL 500 yesterday and really excited about today but obviously with a great deal of mixed emotions to say the least.

If I end bringing this car home it will not hurt my feelings one bit and will just have to see how everything goes today on the auction block with Frank and the rest of the Mecum team.

Would love to figure out if my car color combo is unique in the Ox White with Black OTT stripes. I tried the Marti but they are too busy to look into it at the moment. Any help would be appreciated.

Damned right "The bid goes on..." $50k is a joke.
Yea, I met Harry last week. We talked about it. It's not a fire sale. I dont think I'll ever sell my base model.

Hang on to it. I have a 16r and looked to buy an 18 base. Kona blue ...wanted that car so bad ...they had a 20k adm and killed me on the trade so it was a no go. I still think about that car ...and would have bought it if I got a fair trade. If you can...hang on to the base r model...they are the real deal.

Look like PP001 still owns his Base R, probably not too heart broken.

PP001 - You may try BringaTrailer.com they seem to do fairly well with specialty cars.

The last 4 days has been a real roller coaster ride with respect to a great deal of lowball offers/pricing at the recent Mecum auction in Glendale and that was based on a combination of very bad weather, the ongoing world health crisis and the recent crash of the stock market therefore suggest that it ended up as a perfect storm for many of us consignors and it really took its toll over for the last week.

The crowds this past week at the State Farm Stadium were very poor at the very least and the potential bidders that did attend did not part with their money very easily.

There is no question in my mind that it was a buyers market this past week as I witnessed a lot of outstanding deals for buyers with "Lot F164.1" a great example as I know that car very well.

After driving "JR157" to my home in Florence from Glendale earlier today which is some ~85 miles I had a good amount of time to reflect on the last number of days and am the first to admit that I almost made a serious mistake with respect to selling JR157 and so happy to have her home again.:like::like:

The high offer of $50,000 was quite humorous with even one of the Mecum family making mention of what took place with respect to the high bid on my car yesterday.

Bottom line is that I had a terrific time overall this past 4 days and so very happy that I did not sell my 2018 Base R model.

Unless something drastic changes over the next short while JR157 will not be going anywhere soon and consider myself so very fortunate in order to keep this outstanding Mustang in my stable for the foreseeable future.

Yeah, I'll be keeping mine. its RARE that any large scale manufacturer makes only 130 of something, let alone a race version for the street. Hold on to it. If ANY of these cars retain the best resale down the road (10+years) this is the one that will.
Mark my words.

Roger that. Words are marked and I won't be selling mine. Well, not unless this whole thing gets REAL ugly

Can't believe what I just stumbled upon. Diamond in the rough. Modded up but can be modded down. A Base Model R for sale on ebay with a Buy it Now of $50k.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2017-Ford-...443371?hash=item3d9ed01a2b:g:UBMAAOSwxj1eYWUP
Possibly a diamond in the rough but this car may have also had a tough life based on possibly being on it's 3rd set of tires with low miles and a full roll cage.

That engine compartment is pretty nasty and suggest that it should have been at least cleaned up a bit prior to taking a picture of it.

Also as Tom mentioned I am not confident that the power train warranty is still in effect for this vehicle?

Having said all that it is still 1 of the few 135 R's built over the last 6 model years therefore that has to account for something!!:thumbsup:
