Just curious as to which one you guys would think will be 'top dog' at the end of the day. And you need to give your reasons as to why.

In your made up world, does the Boss have 1970's tech tires on it?

You sure about that?

Nah, the PP2 has 70's tech tires on it.
Well I mean this is a super made up question as it is right? Is the 1970's model assembly line fresh or does it have 100K miles on the motor?

I've watched enough historic races, Rolex and others, and I doubt very seriously a 1970 Mustang (any of them) are going to keep up with a PP2 with 305 Sport Cups 2's, Magneride, and 460 HP.

Do you have access to both these cars and plan on sharing or just wasting every ones time?

Parnelli Jones 1:31.010- fastest lap time

PP2 would eat that for lunch. 70's technology in general would not be competitive by today's standards. The problem would be doing it lap after lap without the proper cooling for the PP2. By comparison the PP2 ran a best 1:38.42 on the post 1988 configuration (2.24 mi). One also has to take into consideration the original layout of LS was much less technical. Today's vehicles on the original track would embarrass most of the old iron.

It's a hypothetical question. And if you think this is wasting everybody's time, why answer? But since you went there, I'll bet $1000 Parnelli Jones in a 1970 BOSS 302 T/A on his worst day would kick you & your PP2's ass on your best day.

That would be interesting to compare times of amatuer drivers to pros - especially on a track like Laguna Seca.

Someone needs to make a Fred Durst meme with Keep Troll'n cause you go hard.

Now you've introduced a 86 year old into the mix of your fake car racing.

If you can bring Mr. Jones and the Boss 302 I'll bring my PP2. Seems like you don't have any access to your stupid theory about which is better.

Since your car and money are both imaginary I will call you and raise you 1 mega-bazillion.

Considering that the 2012 - 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca lapped the current Laguna Seca course at 1:39.5, and the PP2 is about a second faster, I'd say it's a pretty easy question to answer.

I really want to say that it might be possible that the 1970 Boss would be faster. Racing slicks as tires, lighter weight, set up as a racecar is the assumption (not a stock Boss), so lower than a stock Mustang with very stiff springs and extremely sticky and wide tires. Race weight of a Boss 302 probably more than1,000 lbs less than a 2019 GT.

It would surprise me if a typical amateur could really win in a new PP2 vs. a pro in a 1970 Boss really set up for racing.
