Keep the GT500 or get the Bullitt?

So I slept on it, talked to my Ford tech at my local dealer, and (of course) my wife...and I think I'm going to keep the GT500 for now.

1. My tech confirmed that parts are still plentiful and will be for the foreseeable future, so that's a relief.
2. It's still under ESP warranty until December 2023.
3. As others surmised above, the Bullitt does not qualify for the 0% for 84 months, sadly.
4. So many memories with this car! Just looking at these pictures has me reminiscing. I do love this car, and I don't think I can bear to part with it.

Thanks for all the inputs. I'll be back in 2023 with another dilemma, I'm sure!

^^^ Good choice OP. I think outside the “new” you would really miss the punch of the condor. People already complain that the Bullitt with the mt-82 gearing and gt350 induction is a little lackluster below 4k rpms. Is the GT500 modded at all? Those are real easy pulley tune 550-575 whp.

Some minor mods - KR short throw shifter and exhaust, FRPP Handling Pack, FRPP CAI and tune, so it's about 540hp/510lb-ft. Perfectly driveable...and yeah, that low-RPM punch is so addicting! The only car that could come close is the new GT500, and I'm not spending that kind of cash.

Good choice. The 500 is in its own league and will always be a bad ass ride. So will the Bullitt but when you get “bored” with the 500, you only need a few parts to totally change that mindset.

The thing about older Mustangs is they just feel so raw and that’s really the root of these cars.
The S550 is very compliant and just does whatever you ask. That’s great, but it was easier to hoon around in my New Edge GT than this car.

Good choice, will keep my 07 GT500, of which I purchased new, until to old to drive. The new fun cars will come and go.

That is perfect because the power is repeatable. Once you pulley down heat soak becomes a real issue. As said new cars come and go, but the GT500 is always known as the factory top dog mustang regardless of year.

My 03 Cobra was actually more fun at 413/371 whp (no tune no pulley) than it was at 460/472 whp on the street. At least on a street tire.

Keep it for now. It has high mileage to be a collector's car.

Wait till car prices drop even more next month I bet that Bullitt will be even cheaper. Sales are about to plummet.

Yes, they're working now.

In the short run, you may not have the choice, depending on what kinds of transactions your state will end up allowing. Worst case, that gives you more opportunity to decide what's really your right choice here.

Good Choice looks awesome, if anything just mod it more to keep you happy. I always loved that iteration of the 500
